That being said I'm sure it's hard to keep coming out with new champs that are not repeats of of old ones. Hopefully they can find the right balance between interesting and not just complicated I'm fine with wacky champions, the problem is a lot of the champion abilities seemed sort of shoehorned in to fit a position and less so the thematic design of a champion. For example, the new poppy remake is actually pretty good thematically speaking. A lot of her abilities are focused on her hammer, and the impact of the abilities fit with the character design and lore. Another decent one is Thresh's soul collection passive, though the passive seems out of place for most champions, the idea of collecting souls, and the character theme of being a gravekeeper, keeps a thematic consistency. The problem comes when there's a lot hidden power in abilities that shouldn't really exist, especially if they make very little sense in regards to the overall champion design. Like why does Illaoi's Tentacle smash restore her own health if you land it? Why does Darius Q heal him? Why is Ekko's entire thing based on time travel, only have 1 time travel ability, that doesn't even do time travel part right? How does making some time stop zone = tons of random shields??? A lot of these added tag-on passives or traits that is added to tune the champions to "fit" in specific roles often just making them way too strong.

I do think Riot is slipping away from designing thematic champions. They're running out of space to do so, for one, but also they're designing more for gameplay (what this champion does instead of who they are) than they really ever have in the past. They're different sides of design and very hard to reconcile when you're already 130 champs deep. I'm still amazed champs like Bard are coming out so far into the roster. More things doesn't have to mean a stronger kit. Ekko was never as strong as people thought he was. They tend to be overtuned, yeah, but that doesn't necessarily mean that's an unfixable kit. Ekko is in a solid place right now despite all the nonsensical railing about how 'overloaded' his kit was. There are no rules about how many moving parts a kit should have, as long as they make sense and the dev team's prepared for the balance challenge.

When they release 5 or fewer champions in a year it's more okay for each one to be pretty unique. Also I really don't like Ekko's kit and I think he's a dumb champion and his abilities don't fit his theme at all, nor do they fit with the teaser video which I thought was going to be awesome. I agree with wei that Ekko's shit is pretty lame.

You can have an overloaded kit and still be balanced. Champs like Thresh and Ekko are very overloaded IMO. Makes them ultra frustrating, not necessarily OP.

Ghost Bro's being super overtuned. Dark Seal is such a colossal buff to Janna it's not even funny. Thunderlord's Lulu with attack speed reds must be the most obnoxious thing to lane against. Windspeaker's Blessing Sona/Soraka/Karma is hilariously troll - add any hyper tank to the mix for even more troll with the +15% resist buff. Tahm Kench being Tahm Kench. Nami is just straight up broken when paired with Caitlynn. Utility/AP supports seem incredible strong in yoloQ at the moment. I love it.

It doesn't look like much in lane (although Kalista, Ezreal, etc. don't do much damage because of his aura) but damn the raidboss in lane. When people say Malphite's strong because of the AD-centric stuff, you've got Taric doing this to all your team. He's not super flashy but he gets the job done.

Full health after full clear on kindered I'm not 100% but i know it's possible. His health after a full lee clear is more than i thought possible.

I won a lot of games with it last season too. But that's okay, my new thing is Devourer + Strength of Ages, shit is so broken. I thought Xin was the perfect jungler for it, but Fizz is even better.

I mean when the biggest problem of the champion is you can't get gold and you get significant buffs in that department +utility page gets moved so you aren't fucked for not going in it seems pretty fucking ridiculous to ignore it. But hey you can act all smug about it when you are straight up bullshiting that is fine too.

Supports as a whole got stronger, so that's more a rising tide lifts all boats thing rather than Brand specifically getting big buffs. I haven't even looked at what the masteries would really do for him this season since I've been playing exclusively jungle. I could write a dissertation about why it works, but I'm trying to chill at a coffee shop right now. You're taking this pretty personally IMO. I'm satisfied knowing that I was generally right about Brand as a support, and salty just makes sweet savory.

Yea an item dependant champ getting items easier clearly is just a side buff for support in general. Salty too strong of a word. People who are wrong are simply annoying. So you haven't looked at what masteries do for him but they don't matter? 10/10 friend

Because so far you've admitted you're clueless about what the masteries could do for him and the preseason made supports stronger as a whole regarless of the champion so I feel like you're argueing more in favor of nafta than your own point of view.
