The juggernauts aren't mobile, she is. And her shield is enough to make her tanky, if you can't blow her up for her HP pool+shield before the cd comes back up you'll have a stupid hard time to finish her off. And if she lives more than two rotations (in duration, not damage) then most champs are probably dead or low enough for her to 1v1 one after the other with her shield. Hydra just adds to her burst (I think Titanic's active when you build HP does more damage than Hydra's when you build AD? Longer cd but still; also true auto-reset, in case you needed some more cancelling) and Sterak's helps her make sure she won't die in the first part of the fight.

I love titanic, the reset and the extra damage on the active has netted me so many kills that would have otherwise escaped/turned it around. Best thing ever is to use the active on a minion or champ in your way to kill them with the splash :p

Seeing a lot of midlaners going frostqueen's claim, what's up with that?

I think when you upgrade it to claim you can still proc the effects of it after you kill creeps. So you get to have the +45 damage tick and extra money while farming all the same. Its stats nice and spooky ghosts is ridiculously good.

I used to recommend Twin Shadows a lot situationally because the active is so strong. Now it's on a better item that also generates gold and gives more mreg than Morello.
Also really puts into view how mediocre Athene's is unless you're hemorrhaging mana all game long.
|
See page 1 of the patch discussion about Frost Queen
FQC doesn't get disabled, the previous two do get disabled after minions.
Honestly, Twin Shadows was a nice item but really awkward to fit into your build without falling behind on your power curve as a mid and just way too expensive for supports.

It's basically Athenes with a super good active instead of MR for less gold.

Oh wow, I just played my second game against an Illaoi. The first one was pretty straight forward because the person playing her sucked so bad I couldn't even tell what her kit was, but the second? This has got the be the most obtuse kit I have ever seen. That spirit steal into tentacle bullshit has got to go, I have never been more annoyed at a champion skill since I started playing this game.
If the bitch is dead, why are her tentacles still hitting me? Who thought it was a fun minigame to have to spend time killing 3 tentacles and basically losing half my health for trying if she lands the skillshot? What was the thinking behind the spirit steal, and who thought it was gonna be obvious what you were supposed to do when that happened? Why does the debuff persist through her death, for like an hour, globally? Why do her tentacles turn invincible when she ulties, and who thought that was gonna make sense to whoever was fighting her?
Whoever designed this champ should be fired.

Athene's also got nerfed like 50 times in a row
I honestly didn't even realize mana font got changed until a month ago lol

Yeah, that was, uh, preseason 4, I think?
Morello used to be insanely efficient in comparison so they slapped 350 gold on the cost and left Morello as is. Now APs buy an overtuned support item, because Rito item design.

Maybe it's just because I'm playing Nasus, but I honestly have zero problem with Illaoi whatsoever. Her abilities are hugely telegraphed, very easy to dodge, and she has basically no mobility. The only time I've seen her be useful is when her opponent didn't watch the champion spotlight and has no clue what she does. (Also in 1v2 tower dives, she's pretty good at beating those.)
To be fair, I'm a big proponent of more simple kits, and I hate that every new champ has a 2-paragraph description for their abilities. But I don't really think she's a strong champion right now.
|
Same. Unless your teamcomp is 4 melees so she can easily hit 4/5 people with ult she doesn't seem that strong from what I have seen so far.
|
It's not that she's strong, she's just unintuitive and annoying, the kit is friggin weird as shit.
|
Don't see what is so weird about her. Didn't even bother watching the spotlight and after reading what her abilities do just once it is quite obvious.
|
the only time I've struggle with her is when I've had teammates who don't know the mechanics of E at all. Like literally having cursed people following the team around and not making any attempts to kill tentacles.
breaking the teather for no reason when her team has no follow up.

Why do people defend bad design if its not strong? That just means it will be OP if they give it the correct numbers, and the drafting system isn't complex enough to accommodate such kits.

That sure is a loose definition right there, chief.
