Yes, it's just they don't care (I promise you that M3 and World Elite have no connections at all. It's just a coincidence that M3 is being filled by WE.F players) yeah, that's what I assumed, cuz I was thinking why teams were importing even more koreans.
Because they think local Chinese players are bad? Looks pretty obvious. And don't count on them keeping three Chinese players as the resident rule comes in soon.

Who'd thought that thinking before posting is a cool thing.

I'm pretty sure this isn't what wei meant, but I am surprised they haven't discarded the 3/5 rule since they ignore all other Riot rules. I think I can answer my own question though, in that they would if not for the desire to play in Riot run worlds, where they can't ignore the rules.

Goldenglue joins Ember. I assume then that Hard will play in Spring since contractz is underaged and in order to take C9T's spot they'd need 3/5 with yusui retired and sheep on coast/imagine/warlords/whateverthefuck.

Yeah, I meant why invest in more korean players than the team can legally field. Seems like a waste of money unless sister teams are allowed.

Turns out CLG chose Stixxay over Forgiven. Truly counter logic.

https://medium.com/the-nexus/better-humans-become-better-athletes-c6fd451aa5fd#.ishwjejpx Somewhere in there Jonathan Pan lists the salaries for Ember's players. "Gleeb — $57,500 base, $15,000 in bonuses, total comp $72,500 Contractz — $60,000 base, $10,000 in bonuses, total comp $70,000 Goldenglue — $65,000 base, $27,000 in bonuses, total comp $92,000 Solo — $65,000 base, $21,000 in bonuses, total comp $86,000 Benjamin— $60,000 base, $15,000 in bonuses, total comp $75,000"
Good on Ember to take the first step; salaries should be public like any other sport. Though I do wonder if I should take the NFL approach or not when looking at these numbers (the NFL approach being base salary is the only thing that matters, everything else is assumed to never actually be realized)
And naturally, the base salaries are higher than what KeSPA reported as the average of 40 signed players, even after boosting from SKT/Longzhu/Tigers.

These salaries are fucking absurd. Goldenglue making more then most KR/EU pros.

Pretty disgusting how much money they can make being irrelevant in NA let alone anywhere else, and people call WCS welfare.
|
jesus christ those salaries
and they have free housing/healthcare/etc
no wonder fury wants to come to NACS lmao
also the org seems pretty damn idealistic reading through that "that an NA team will kiss the Summoner’s Cup within two years" lol s7 NA world champs hype

You get what the guy across the table is willing to offer you. From the other side of the table, you offer what is needed to get the other guy to accept. Supply and demand. It speaks more about the leverage players in Korea and Europe have.
|
Well its a nice thing if you have investor money that you can piss away. Some orgs have to actually earn the money they spend though. Which is why all this public comparing of salaries does not make much sense imo. And players have a pretty good idea of what other players earn anyway.
|
Alright let's take bets on if this team will still exist in a years time.
|
Public salary information is more leverage for the players' side.
Speaking of, it's a funny thing; fans tend to automatically be on the players' side of things on most topics, but then when it comes to the one thing that actually matters in this world (how much money a player actually gets), people get a lot more divided with their responses.

Than an NA team will kiss the Summoner's Cup within two years. How delusional these people are?
|
I think it's just Eu fans being (understandably) salty that being able to fill a resident slot in na is literally worth 60k
60k in eu (as far as we know) is 1v5 capabilities and that is kinda bs
