1. Leave all popular tops up (GP, Fiora, Riven, Darius) 2. Ban all the junglers. (Elise, graggy, lee) 3. Pick Spartan top. No one remembers the horror, people will think you're trolling. 4. Kill everything because pantheon absolutely dominates Fiora, GP, new Darius and Riven. You kill them literally at every level except 6 and 7... by which point you're level 11 already so it don't matter. Just all in all game unless your on their junglers hiking experience top favorite destination. 5. Snowball the game, win at 20 minutes. If you don't know how to play pantheon, check oldskool atrioc guide, or search through the Internets for stream archives of locicero / Mogwai (smashgizmo). Run like hell from new Garen though. Don't matter how hard you shit on him if you're the villain all game. What a dumb champ, you get punished for being better. You just die to him despite being up 3k gold. Stupid stupid stupid champ. | ||

Man I remember playing Sejuani and only banning junglers back when she wasn't popular and nobody played anything but Lee and Jarvan. Shit was hilarious when they'd start banning junglers too, then suddenly there's no popular junglers available and I pick Sejuani. End up going against Warwick or something and just wreck face every game. | ||

Riven will pretty much always win with smart shield usage and animation cancelling because she bursts harder and can disengage. She'll run you oom if you don't start flask and if you die she'll outtrade you. Old GP could survive Pantheon just fine and farm till he beats him (his passive could also turn an early all-in if you missed the kill but it's been changed so whatever). Current one probably can too, although it's risky. That made me check Pantheon's base stats though and its surprising how low his base AD is (56~105), his armour is super high though. People not knowing how Pantheon works and picking champions because they're perceived as OP over being able to play them doesn't make Pantheon stronger. I've solokilled (and "won" my lane, as much as being able to delay when they outscale me, then group while I'm still stronger is winning my lane) Darius or Vladimir as Maokai, and in my promos I killed Irelia and she only came back because her jungler showed up multiple times including a save at 30 HP. That doesn't mean Maokai is stronger than these champions, just that they were played very badly (got Irelia's player against me in the following game, he was pretty much invisible). Same deal when Viktor was unpopular, I'd beat Ahri even though the match-up is pretty brainless in her favour, just because they didn't know the champion and were used to Ahri beating about everyone by default. | ||

Darius was a real bad matchup before, but now his early game is real bad comparatively. Pantheon rolls him. The nerfs to his passive really hurt him here. Play the matchup now, it's actually really easy for panth, even if Darius stacks armor. Still not my favorite matchup, you probably lose if Game goes to 25 minutes. Panth vs Riven used to be very skill based, but with all Riven nerfs you pretty much just wreck her levels 1 through 5. I've done this math 1000 times, but Riven can't really trade with pantheon till level 4 even wit animation cancelling. Especially in soloqueue, all Riven will trade with you before then. Mostly I win this through cheese and Riven players being ignorant. I think at a higher level I'd probably lose this if they played it well. Fiora actually just cannot fight pantheon till 6. It's a real one sided matchup. Tbh, probably pantheons best matchup. Fiora cannot proc her passive through panth shield with E, and she also cannot reposte his stun, animation way too fast. This is actually the matchup that made be start playing pantheon again. She is completely helpless in lane until she gets R. Played the lane probably 20 times, smashed it every time. Fiora REALLY needs help in this lane. Tbh this is the only real one sided lane. GP I've only played a couple of times; my impression is GP can no longer build ridiculous amounts of armor and out sustain you. The passive changes really hurt him early against pantheon too. Probably skill based or maybe in favor of GP. That being said, I think gp is pretty beatable. Especially if you get ganks the lane is pretty snowballed because GP is going to build damage, and it's hard to combo barrels in brushes and stuff with how quickly panth closes and all ins. Only top matchup I personally don't feel screwed in. Might be a 5 seasons of experience thing though. As has always been the case, panth more scared of junglers than lane opponents. Might be bad at anywhere above mid plat, but at mid plat this is definitely the easiest way to win games. With how I'm climbing might even hit diamond. My point was, anyway, that Spartan is very very playable. Much more so now than when tops were like Mao / Sion / Rumble all day every day. | ||

I thought standard riven vs panth strat was just to gt 2-3 points in e early so you can just farm while ignoring his spears, and wait til 6 to blow him up. | ||
