By being an open platform, they can probably transfer profits from individual streamers into contracts for teams. Well they will never be making any profit.

They should have rebranded. I think Twitch also has better UI. Overall this just seems like a very easy market to monopolize (because it's so convienient to have all your streams on one "following" page etc. and for whatever reason people are really attached to the Twitch brand, something I can't understand).

They should have rebranded. Imo it doesnt even matter that they are terrible, they also would not have made it if they were better. People are watching Twitch now, they have a quasi monopoly, kinda like Google (which is also why they are worth a billion). If a different streaming platform wants to attract good streamers these have to be able to earn more money there. Since less people will watch said streamer on the new non-Twitch platform they would have to make up for that with increased cpm rates, but that is simply not viable longterm. Even own3d.tv that was fairly established and "only" had like 30% less viewers for a streamer as on Twitch went bankrupt over the (presumably 1/3?) higher rates they had to pay their streamers. But it is kinda hilarious how collosal the Azubu failure is. You really have to wonder how retarded some investors are.

If Azubu didn't completely screw up their launch and site the first time around I think they could have been successful, especially with some of the names they had signed to them.

The thing Twitch has going for it is that it isn't Youtube, actually. Youtubers don't stream on Youtube, and instead do it on Twitch, because it's safer to do so. If one disappears they still have an established viewerbase.

Everyone can agree that RL is a scumbag with an obsession with trashing Riot, r/lol, and the mods every chance he can get. There's plenty of evidence of RL being an asshole, doxxing people, and in general being a douche. So the obvious step is to ban him from r/lol. Which happened. But then RL decides to use his twitter and social media to have other people be assholes for him by vote brigading in violation of Reddit's TOS, harassing posters critical of him, doxxing people via twitter, etc... At this point what should you do? You can't simply just ban everyone saying bad things or agreeing with RL since you have no idea if that person truly feels that way or are just doing so 'cause RL wants them to. Do you just let RL shit up your subreddit? At this point, the r/lol mods have to do something. Banning his content is extreme, but really, what the fuck else can they do? I also get that Cheep's posts poking fun at r/lol and holding up LiquidLoL are in part in jest, but do you really think someone like RL will do well here? TL is notorious for its no bullshit stance. FFS especially bad posters have their entire post history nuked here on TL. Just because someone is famous or a solid contributor is not a badge of immunity. Idra has been banned numerous times for toxicity and his forum toxicity doesn't reach RL's level of assholishness on r/lol. Even long-time contributors have been banned on TL before coughrofflescough

First it was Deman's email leak, then he leaked all of the private conversations he had with a reddit mod in the video he just uploaded - in which it was very clear that the reddit mod was trying to make amendments with him. I wonder if anyone will still be interested in working with him in the future. There are plenty of other journalists out there.
