the real outplay here is chilling smite sux, why would you even bother with it in a fight to the death.
had he saved it he could have smote the red buff 2nd for the true damage, might not have worked but chilling someone trying to kill you is useless

I think Tiamat is really good on Garen, but I almost always run 9/21. There are a few exceptions, but those are few and far inbetween. Also run really greedy runepages with both scaling armour and scaling magic resist.
I'm only rank 194 on Garen atm though

edit: I think he's good enough to just blindly firstpick as long as Lissandra is banned. Lot of people have no idea how to handle him and you pick up free wins when some smartass picks Irelia against you (which I think is one of Garen's best matchups). Also usefull to have a full armour runepage against those full AD comps, running around with 350+ armour off of 2 items feels good.

Just had a Graves carry us pretty darn hard (Ziggs did more damage overall but hey against Jinx/Nasus/Shyvana/Lissandra I know who's more at risk; Jinx did the most out of both teams).
Of course we had some decent peeling if Ziggs used his abilities defensively, and with me (they wouldn't kill me first even when I was relatively squishy) standing behind their front and backline Jinx couldn't go for him. Still, when he was low and with Shyvana in Burnout on his ass, his kiting was good and he plays so aggressively to chase people and finish them off despite being low himself.
When I see what I can do when I get Graves, and him being my least bad marksman, it's both inspiring and humbling. Fuck I'm so bad.
(Granted, Shyvana managed to get outfarmed by a Nautilus (I sometimes hit 100 in 20 minutes when I played Vi while ganking more than I did this game, though T_T), and he somehow didn't bother finishing Cinderhulk... wtf?)

I can't imagine playing voli without flash. You absolutely need it to get onto anyone important in teamfights and you have such little kill pressure in lane without it which is 90% the reason to play voli top.
I take flash/ignite on voli nearly every game unless I am facing someone I know I can't kill like sion or maokai.

I really would like to try TP/Smite Olaf, because he would obviously be abusively good with it. Just, you need double Glory plus Sivir on your team to pull that off.

There's just too much utility available from the jungle ecosystem now. It's straight up stupid that Smite can be turned into a slightly weaker version of a bunch of different summoner spells while retaining it's full effect on non-champs. Combined with teleport, a top laner has minimal disadvantage from having no combat stats early on, and that is more than mitigated by the amount of utility and how strong jungler items are.

Any single person can get stopped if your the only one charging. Also more then half the time by the time team fights break out I'm using my Q and e to peel for my carry not charge at theirs. I just switch if theirs gets 2 close.
I guess if you are peeling than it isnt so bad although it kind of defeats the purpose of the skirmishers. I have never tried swifties on voli either, maybe ill give it a shot.

i had 60minute games when enemy graves outperformed our vayne in every aspect and hard carried the game, i believe he isnt as bad vs tanks as people make it, theres a reason forg1ven still can pick him in current meta and completely smash the game regardless of enemy team composition

Forgiven can pick graves because most other ADCs dont pick a hypercarry and if they do, most western ADCs get shit on by him in lane. Thus, even if they are on Kog, he still does more damage.
Also, can people please stop calling Jinx a hypercarry. Her base AS is so bad that she only does good damage with minigun stacked, and has crappy range when it is. Also no poke. She has resets, thats really it. She is like a bridge between Graves/Corki/Ezreal and Kog/Vayne/Trist. A bridge that is also occupied, in some ways, by Lucian.

I would consider Jinx the strongest late game carry that isn't Kog'Maw. It's very common that you will be hitting multiple people with rocket form, and at 6 items critting 2 or 3 people for 300 - 600 each is pretty incredible for fights. And minigun is amazing when someone is diving you, melt them like butter.

Find MarineRevenge stream- Best Garen or smth like that. His builds and gameplay on Garen are really polished and he makes Garen not only looks viable but even strong.
