I think I would like something that maybe disables bonus HP for a few seconds instead of just increasing damage against it, on some kind of Zilean time-bomb effect. This seems pretty roundabout and silly, but I think something to this effect would create a window for tanks to become vulnerable to standard patterns of burst (for mages) without "just dying instantly" or "nullifying an entire build". Has counterplay etc. It also wouldn't make a single character capable of blowing through multiple tanks, and keeps the power of multiple tankbusting mages somewhat in check.

Would you rather have me say: Force the opponent into making a mistake by pressuring him and trying to fake him out so he steps out of line and makes a wrong input, or just outplay? Its funny because outplaying doesn't exist according to you, its just capitalizing on your opponents mistakes you say. But isn't that outplaying in itself? Playing better then your opponent so you abuse his mistakes, outplay literally means playing the situation better then your opponent.

Currently, there is a broadcast rights issues regarding LCK in China. Keahorl, a company that has established a long-term partnership with OGN, has claimed that they own exclusive broadcast rights of LCK, which is certified and verified by CJ, the owner of OGN. The proof is on the CJ websites http://program.interest.me/ongamenet/ognglobal/3/Board/View?b_seq=7 They sue PLU, the company hosting LPL and backed by Tencent, for broadcasting LCK. However, PLU broadcasted LCK by being an observer in the game, which obviously need the approval from OGN.(Keahorl is only adding Chinese commentary and ADs to the korean stream). It is interesting to see how it turn out

I've played a lot of the champions which heavily use dfg over the years, but I've always preferred the non dfg builds and play-styles over dfg rushes, even though they've generally been worse. If ahri/fizz/lb/syndra etc get small buffs to compensate, then I'll be more then happy ![]() My main fear is the ideology they're basing the changes off though. The idea that you should be able to "counterplay" your way out of a situation where an assassin got the drop on you sort of goes against the very idea of assassins. They live and die by their ability to catch people out, and now it sounds like riot wants the adc you just completely outmanoeuvred to be able to escape (I'm sorry, "counter-play their way away") anyway, because punishing people for poor map movement/lack of map awareness is apparently "anti-fun". If they're removing dfg because people can't handle getting punished for facechecking a bush which a leblanc/zed was sitting in, or blindly standing in range of an ahri charm or fizz ult and getting bursted, then there isn't really any hope for assassins at all, because that's what they're theoretically designed to do :S

Although I sincerely doubt that is what riot is thinking, that at least would be a decent line of thinking for making the change.

Nope, not at all. Syndra's a mage who happened to receive the damage and patterns of an assassin (I blame how absurdly forgiving her E has become), but Ahri was designed as an assassin from the start. It's just power creep made them forget there's a reason AoE and waveclear weren't Akali's or Leblanc's forte.

I think the DFG nerf might return her to her old playstyle when she was released. It is just a guess though. There is no teling what Riot might do.

And akali/old Leblanc never or almost never saw competitive, except when ridiculously overpowered. But maybe that is the point. Assassins might not have a place in competitive lol.

On January 15 2015 00:21 Sufficiency wrote: Yes, I think Ahri has potential as an actual mage - it's just that after Riot nerfed her base damage and buffed her ratio, she became an assassin. Her E changes kind of nailed her to that role. When I talked about design, I meant the nature of her kit, not how her numbers are shifted. Vel'Koz and old Annie have better base than ratio, that doesn't make them assassins. Ahri's supposed to use her orb to deal some poke damage/whittle down her opponents a bit, then use her ult to maneuver around the fight and/or engage unsuspecting targets from afar and immobilise them with Charm while she unloads her burst to kill them. The way her kit worked at release allowed her to deal significant damage to multiple threats instead of killing a single one, and when Riot noticed how high said AoE damage was, they had to reduce it (because of the "I don't even need to aim or point'n'click you to kill you" situation) while maintaining her single-target burst (and making it rely on actually hitting a spell). The issue is when even after the nerfs, Ahri hurtling amidst several people can still wreck up to 3 because she's still got very good AoE on Q and R, and the true damage part of Q allows it to scale very well with AP. Why kill a single person when you can do it and harm 2 others? (Not that that was what Kha'Zix did too, 'cept he harmed everyone then tried to kill one to get the penta, and Zed keeps doing that because his W steroid and E cd lets him dish absurd amount of AoE damage.)

She comes and goes away, there is nothing wrong in it and she will still be good without dfg. On January 15 2015 02:26 kongoline wrote: ^ in fact ahri was considered orianna counter even when orianna was "OP" Cool story.
