You are oly 1 or so armor behind flat @ lvl 3 which is when your 1st gank is anyways. Going to try it out, makes sense in my head. 1*9=9 0.16*3*9=4.32 9-4.32=4.68 4.68 > 1

When I solo queue, I run: Flat Marks of Good Attitude Scaling Seals of Cooperation Flat Glyphs of Respect Scaling Quintessences of Optimism Unfortunately I find that it is usually hard-countered by Flat Quintessences of Instalock Mid.

The scaling runes are the problem there. Scaling Seals of Cooperation don't beat Flat Seals of Teamwork until lvl 9, by which point you're usually too far behind for it to matter.

Your problem is you use scaling runes. Should have put all your trust in the beginning until proven wrong.

In my mind, runes are the most important at lvl 1-6, when you basically don't have items. When you get items, the stat given by your runes will be proportionally less and less significant. So if I want to get the most bang for my buck, I would go for the flat ones, bully my way through early game and ride that advantage with bigger/better items later, even if they get a little more from their runes in the long run. If I fall behind early, I don't think scaling runes are what is gonna let me get back in the game regardless. Does that make any sense to anyone else? Only exception I can think of is the scaling CDR runes. Am I doing it wrong? You're forgetting that raw power is more important later in the game when death timers are longer and more combat is happening relative to laning. It is true that runes are most important when you don't have a lot of other stats, but unless you are able to leverage that into a lead the scaling runes are overall better. So part of the flat/scaling choice is matchup dependent. Do you need flat in order to survive? Do you need to press an early game advantage? If no, then Scaling has its advantages.

As for Aatrox, the biggest nerf he got was the gold reduction on first blood. At his height of popularity Aatrox was a pretty average jungler but his super early dive potential was huge because of his passive and before the snowball nerfs the correlation between first blood and victory was much stronger. I've had success with Aatrox against every common toplaner personally, you have pretty decent ranged poke, and his Q >emp W > e combo is pretty chunk. You can kill almost any of them at lvl 6 with your ult too

Shaco shows up the same level as him and kills him twice. Three minutes later the Shaco is two levels above him. This guy is so trash lomo.

He has a habit of getting out to a massive lead as Nunu and then fucking it up. Like most junglers, I don't think he knows how to transition the early game asshole into anything effective late game.
