CC is honestly not too important in URF. Everyone is so strong for their levels with the increased gold gains that everyone is a squishy and blows up so fast anyways. You almost never need to chain cc to kill someone. Just a single solid hard cc or long soft cc is enough.

It matters because most anybody has the ability to counter-kill anyone else except when chain-CC is involved. Permastun means you can 1v1 anyone regardless of levels or items, which, on certain heroes (e.g. TF who can capitalize on anyone being alone with ~30s ult CD) really limits what the enemy can do.

If anything, "everyone's a squishy" means that someone with permastun can pretty much always kill someone who's alone fast enough that nobody can come save them unless they were already waiting there to counter-kill, which can't happen against someone like TF because of Destiny's map reveal.

doesnt exactly work like that in practice, youre assuming tf is going to get a gold card first, and if he never misses a cycle at that. which if youre trying to kite someone who is all over your ass you're not gonna get a second chance.

even heroes with perma cc arent unkillable, like someone said earlier you get free tenacity from the start, so there is no such thing as perma cc, with the exception of blitz apparently who can chain knockup :x

I wish they made this game mode last for a couple months just so we can see what strategies become really apparently broken.

No, even with 25% tenacity, Pick a Card IS perma-stun at rank 4.

You basically have to miss a cycle for it not to be, and given how the TF card selection mechanics work (card selection keeps spinning at the same rate even when the selector is not active/visible) this is something a practiced TF player won't do.

Should be disabled from every game mode, IMO.

Edit: Oh, they did. Yay!

Uh.

As far as I know, PAC's cooldown starts when the card is consumed - that is, when you launch an enhanced auto or when the buff expires. Also, his W has a 6 seconds cooldown, which with 80% CDR is 1.2 seconds.

Now, assume for now you have rank 5 PAC, which has a 2 seconds stun. After passive tenacity it is 1.5 seconds. Therefore, barring TF's auto wind up and missile travel speed:

Time 0s: Stun
Time 1.2s: PAC ready
Time 1.5S: Stun expires

You only have a 0.3s time frame to pick out your next card. Ignoring your reaction time and ping, you have a little more than 67% chance to stun again.

Not even close to perm stun.

I'll give you $100 if you can keep me locked in place with TF for 20 seconds.

I bet I could get a tristana jump off in the downtime between a computer AI playing the game frame perfect.

i CAN confirm, after going 4-20 and still winning with TF, that the hidden card cycle very closely matches the spam cooldown for button mashing, but its still not even close to permastun. its very easy to gold card, autoQ, gold card, but you still get blown up by just about anything in the 0.5 seconds that they arent actually stunned.

what are your guys thoughts on ori for urf?
i've played against, and as ori a few times and she seems very very strong.
I don't want to say OP because she's obviously still high skill-cap (can't just chuck ults everywhere or q-w wherever like nid does) but very very good in the hands of an actual ori player.

the shockwave is something ridiculous like 15 seconds

She's spammable and fun to play, but definitely not OP. her lack of true mobility really hurts, but she can probably 1v1 outplay most champions if you are truly the better player.

To keep the stun cycle 13 times, and assume the TF player has a 50% chance to perform the play correctly each time (big if), there is a 0.012% chance of this happening. Your money is safe.

If you think CC doesn't matter then you haven't played against Veigar.

Poppy passive is best passive in game verses nid spears

Being able to stick on people in urf is incredible and the ult lets you ignore everything they throw at you. You just need a heal champ to slip through the bans to get you through early game.

Anyway, I think at this point the only things that can perm hard CC are Brand and Taric, and only when they are:

1. Very close to their target
2. (Taric) has a lot of attack speed

Morgana can perm bind a target if she is very close to the target.

Despite what Riot said, LB cannot perm bind her target with her E. I am skeptical that she can do it even if she also use mimick E. LB cannot perm silence with only her Q either. She cannot perm silence even with her R.

I will argue that a Taric will outduel almost anyone one on one if Taric has Flash to follow up on the intial stun. But at this point this scenario seems a bit unlikely.

anyone who cant build and utilize gunblade is at a minor disadvantage. that item is so fucking good in this mode.
