Remember Warwick top was considered really OP and riot nerfed warwicks passive auto damage+lifesteal because of it.
Chauster likes to say that everything is viable, given the circumstances. I tend to think that nearly every champ is 2 buffs away from being broken (brokenly strong)
warwicks ult also happens to excel against some popular assassins like leblanc (who can't jump back out vs ww ult) and zed
also having a large %hpbased nuke+lifesteal is great against the popular pure tank build top laners. (remember WWs Q was nerfed massively too)

Other thing is WW and Trundle are a bit more specialized in when they're good. WW is particularly strong against health stacking and Trundle is really good against the supertanks. Shyv/Mundo are just very consistent, stable picks for solo q and competitive. But saying that WW/Trundle aren't viable in solo q is just utterly wrong.
Literally every champion is viable in solo q even outside of their specific niches because even though your team might not be able to take full advantage of a champion's strengths, you can bet the other team can't fully exploit said champ's weaknesses.
@Teut: I thought it was a nerf to WW's Q healing only off of damage done.

Vlad vs mundo is a curb stomp for mundo, it's pretty much a kill 100% if mundo can land a cleaver and vlad can't really bully mundo as he'll just play conservative with cleavers until he can just kill vlad.
