Hello Summoners.
Riot Games is well aware of the harmful effects of account sharing, which hurts in-game competitive fairness and tournaments, and have come up with a set of rules to prevent such behavior. These rules have come out of our discussion with tournament partners Kespa, Ongamenet, and NicegameTV, and affect professional players and team management/staff.
Definitions:
1. Account sharing: Using/abusing or attempting to on another person’s account.
a. This includes using your friends’, teammates’, or managements’ account and using viewers’ accounts while streaming.
b. Applies to all games (Ranked, normal, and custom)
2. Ranked team dealings: Handing over, giving, or selling your ranked team, or attempting to do so.
For Professional Players:
For: Players who have played at least one game in an official tournament (Champions, NLB), including qualifiers.
Punishment in-game: All accounts associated with that player will be permanently banned.
Tournament Participation: That player will be prohibited from participating in all official tournaments (Kespa, OGN, and NicegameTV organized tournaments) for 2 years.
Note: Those who already have a ban on official tournaments because of a previous permanent ban will keep the bans as they are.
For team management:
For: Team staff who ordered the players and/or directed the team to proxy game (managers, coaches, front office).
Punishment in-game: All involved will have their accounts permanently banned.
Tournament Participation: All involved will be prohibited from participating in all official tournaments for 5 years.
For Regular users/amateurs
For: Users who were banned permanently because of proxy gaming or other unfair/dishonest practices.
Tournament Participation: From the beginning of their ban, they will be prohibited from participating in all official tournaments for 2 years.
These punishments and rules will take effect starting today, October 24, 2013, at 13:00 KST.
1. These rules and punishments apply only to those who come after.
2. Those who were caught before were punished under the previous promise made by Riot Games on May 24th, 2013 to eradicate such behavior.
Note: Please refer to http://www.leagueoflegends.co.kr/News/notice_view.php?idx=151770 for more details.
3. Professional Players and team management who are caught in the future will be announced and punished immediately.
