The passive tends to make up for it, but you can't auto then walk away as Jinx last hits because the bazooka just gives her sooo much range, hence freedom to retaliate. Zyra has longer auto range and shorter cooldowns and I suck too much to hit long range Qs.

I'm really lost as to what I should have done, though. I can tell that about everything was wrong, but it's hard to pinpoint what should have been the answer. Let Zyra+Jinx shove to tower since we couldn't compete anyway?
On the other hand it makes it even easier for Zyra to harass, and Jinx's E is very strong to cut off paths. I have no idea who I should have picked, or how I should have played. Definitely something safer though.

Line-ups were Caitlyn/Janna/Sejuani/Malph/Jarvan (top) vs Tristana/Zyra/Evelynn/Viktor/Renekton.

In the second game that countergank by Scip netting you guys a 3-0 into bot tower + dragon was what really put you ahead I think, since Borked Clock on Cait was so ahead (something like 20+ cs and 2 kills?) despite me trying pretty hard to let him 1v2 (going in for damage as Janna with a passive runepage and 0 health pots makes you recall early, surprisingly).

After that in the midgame I tried to cover for us while we were pressuring the mid tower, but I was only using green wards, and relying too much on my oracle to see where he was trying to flank from.
In the end, it also led to me standing too far ahead several times, and with Zyra+Viktor+Evelyn the incidental AoE made me die before I could even ult (too much hard cc combined for how fast I died) so Borked received little to no peel.
I'd say we also failed to follow up efficiently on Teut's ults (AP Malph), who caught either Eve or Tristana several times, but they'd have the time to react and gtfo before we reached them.

Can't really say much after the dc (Wheel on Sejuani dc'd so IMSpoon as Renekton sat out), since they were all squishies and as soon as Scip would miss an ult on Borked Clock they had no way of getting to him, while we could dive easily to at least zone people off. Then, because even Trist barely outranged Cait, Janna > Zyra for peeling so he could clean-up.
Whenever we let Viktor split through, or Borked would stand too far ahead (like when we tried to siege bot inhib tower) they'd have the potential to explode him though, so we almost threw several times, and we had to really take it slower.
Our team also lacked focus several times, for example at one point Scip on Eve survived a dive by something like 30 HP while Teut on Malph was cc'd too much to finish him off (he didn't have sunfire yet).

Xangolol was also working on a GA for his Tristana, I'm not sure how it would have gone had he completed it. At this point an ace could have resulted in a loss for either team I think (depending on how far the lanes were pushed since our team had a 1 inhib advantage).

Pretty much agree with your analysis =) After Spoon sat out we didnt have someone to really dive in to engage so Scip sorta had to, but since you guys could just wait that out that didnt work out which meant we couldnt get to Bork anymore. Apart from that the game was awesome fun, altho i'm not quite sure how effective AP malph is; might've just been that game but it didnt seem too strong all in all, and that's while played by a great player (teut).

The game I'm speccing now is awesome ^^ Xango surviving mid with ~~20hp dancing around, AP sona top <3

AP Malph is a bit like AP Cho. You've got a rather strong laning (because good base stats and ability damage to make up for being less tanky), and hit a power spike in the midgame, with level 2 ult, and 1.5-2 abilities maxed, but once people gain more levels/defensive items and you can't 100-0 anymore when the team follows up on your combo you start falling off.

AP Cho doesn't have rather strong laning. He used to, but doesn't anymore.

The game where I dc'd I think the biggest problem was us lacking actual damage. While I think the reasoning of going Abyssal first vs Eve and Viktor is fine, we just didn't have damage to instaburst the guy you ulted. And that was basically the goal of the comp: burst Trist or Viktor (or even Eve) and go on from there. But we just couldn't do that.

jarvan went full tank for some reason and had no damage along with sejuani
like he went full tank only to either follow up on my engages or to help protect the adc in both cases he didn't need to be that tanky
malphite wasn't really a great pick but I don't play mid so

You can remove the part about my computer overheating, I fixed that.

Tentative self-criticism of my support play (which, despite being somewhat succesful in soloQ, has shown to be abysmal for our IHs' level):

+ Show Spoiler [wall of text] +
  • I play very aggressively. From level 1 onward, I generally try to punish last hits or just moving around, using autos and spells and not hesitating to take some retaliation as long as I deal more damage. I stuff down potions like no tomorrow to sustain this high-trading style without leaving room for the opponent to heal, until he's low enough that he can't even take trads he'd win in raw damage. It usually leads to the lane pushing, with me being able to zone out and/or force one enemy to recall once he's at tower.

  • However, whenever we play in IHs I take way more damage than in soloQ, get punished for my greedy/aggressive positioning and generally end up being low without having dealt much damage. It's most prominent when I play Lulu, and people dodging more of my Qs has some part in it.
The way I see it however, is that people at my level in soloQ don't know how to handle relentless aggression, or how to play the match-ups in general, and so they either don't expect it (and take free damage my first few attempts) or play overly safe and don't dare to retaliate or commit even when I expose myself. In short, this is a playstyle that only works against my opponents because they're bad, that is itself bad on an absolute scale, fails whenever I'm up against decent opponents, and puts me very behind whenever I screw up; I'm guess what I'm doing is cheesing, then.

  • My positioning and timing are bad. I started playing like that when I did full consumables openings over charm/bead/flask + consumables openings, noticing that the stronger sustain let me get away with taking more damage (as a price for forcing more trades myself). But it also means that I run through my inventory fast and am usually unable to stay in lane later than level 4-5 regardless of my ward supply; hence that if I fail to force a kill or a recall, I fall behind in experience, a reoccurring pattern in any non-snowballing game.
I should choose my trades more carefully so as to minimise the damage taken, using my consumables to recover from a screw-up rather than as a crutch. Borked raped my Lulu as Jinx when I tried to punish a cs because her level 1 Q has enough range to give him ~2 free autos while I walk away.

  • My understanding is clearly lacking. I haven't adapted to Alistar then Sona nerfs well, my Leona didn't only drop from playing her less but also because I was unable to handle players giving less openings as I climbed well, I'm unable to play Thresh close to his worth, my Fiddle is erratic and my Lulu disregarding of circumstances. I'm nowhere near the knowledge of a support main, but because I still try, and have no qualms supporting in soloQ, I'm probably above average. Less experienced players will usually cower when their opponent seems confident, even though they're in a supposedly favourable match-up. It makes me successful, but on the other hand means I'm not learning anything, especially when I'm getting bad habits which noone punishes me for, that get rooted deeper and deeper.
Because there is so much I do wrong, I feel totally at a loss when someone reacts the right way to my behaviour or plays a match-up the way it's supposed to be: there's no single bad decision to pinpoint but a flurry of them. I should ask experienced people about match-ups in details so I at least know whether I'm supposed to win/lose/tie, the basic tricks, and build a more consistent base for me to notice and work on my shortcomings.

  • I don't adapt my play when behind and up feeding. This is compounded by how I mentioned if I don't get an edge my playstyle will naturally lead to me missing exp, so I'm weaker, making me die when I ignore it, putting me further behind, making me easier to kill when I screw up again, etc. Because I'm so relentless in my offensive playstyle, I lack patience in general, and experience at playing passively/reactively, and when I give in to my urge to do something in lane I get punished. My warding patterns are probably lacking too (even with a ruby sightstone) to make up for the loss of map control when our tower falls, and I don't play safe enough when trying to ward deeper at enemy crossroads. It's a hallmark of my flaws, inherited from playing Mundo/Udyr/Trundle in s2, made me bold and confident in my ability to survive situations.
I need to reestablish the basics of playing from behind, be it warding locations, map movement (stay with my AD or go help mid/keep dragon control) and how not to fall behind in levels (and survivability) by roaming too much, or laning behaviour and playing safe.

  • Also, one of the drawbacks of my aggressive playstyle is how trigger-happy it makes me, causing me to get oom real quick, which often comes back to bite us in the ass when full-blown fights break out and I can't contribute more than a single rotation (sometimes not even, especially as Lulu). I need to work on my mana management. Easing up on the level 1-2 aggression should help that.

TL;DR:
- My typical full-consumables hyper-aggressive playstyle is basically cheese and not conducive to long-terme improvement.
- I should learn more about specific supports' patterns and match-ups, and start playing them properly instead of my universal mindless aggression. I know a bunch, probably more than average, but not enough and I don't apply enough of it. Reducing my pool from 5 to 2-3 should help me focusing.
- I should also learn more about how to salvage a lane, or protect my carry/create space for him to farm without trading/fighting (which can easily lead to me dying). I should force myself to play safe because I make lanes anti-snowball too easily as I try to force catch-up plays.
- Mana management.
