This is why, to an outside observer, reddit is one giant hivemind whose opinions flip flop daily
This is the problem with vote based forums in general, and hence why they can never be taken seriously.

Just so people don't misunderstand. Ferus did not disband, they are just not under mono-organization any longer. Rumor has it there's a big announcement tomorrow regarding their future.
My guess is they got a better offer. EG.Aphromoo?

Both teams expressed an interest in picking up a LoL team. But cited that they didn't because there wasn't any good talent available at the time. mMe Ferus has a lot of talent and if they pick up/picked up a good top laner they could probably be in the running for top 3/4 in NA. So if coL and EG were serious about wanting a LoL team but not seeing enough talent now would be perfect. I think that if complexity wanted to they could definitely go for some of the players left around with former legion, voyboy and all the mono players running around teamless then again both teams can probably cherry pick like mad from all of these people so it's probably goign to take some time to see if they bother investing (There's also FXO who has expressed interest in getting a LoL team).

I feel that if I play safe and do well, I generally can't carry hard enough (solo queue being what it is) since I'm not making aggressive plays and getting fed. On the other hand, making aggressive plays sometimes leads to deaths (occasionally many, admittedly), which isn't good and can lower morale (and by that I mean incite flaming and shitstorms).
When you're trying to improve and play well, how do you handle it? Try and make (potentially catastrophic) plays and be the hero, or play cautiously and try not to start rage? It sounds like you're trying to improve your Elo, rather than your abilities, as otherwise the rage/flaming of your allies would be almost completely irrelevant. I think we've had this discussion before, but I still view these as one and the same. If my abilities improve, I will play better and win more, and therefore my ELO will improve. There's nothing wrong with enjoying validation of a visual representation of your progress. But ELO is in the end inconsequential, just a nice way to see how you're doing (carrying enough games to rise 100 ELO is always a nice feeling, for example). The truth is that unless your lane is a blowout in either direction carrying in solo queue has very little to do with the laning phase. At some point you've probably played a lane where you had a significant advantage, only to have your opponent prey on your other lanes and come back to win the game. That's carrying, and it doesn't require anything other than the game sense to be in the right place at the right time taking the right course of action.
It may just be my personal experience, but a lot of times in the lower ELOs, roaming doesn't count for nearly as many kills as one laner getting ahead and his opponent not knowing how to play against it. But it could be just me :\ Improving skill is related to increasing Elo, but obviously the two aren't one and the same given that factors such as emotional state, physical/mental condition, charisma, and to an extent luck all factor into Elo. So when you use the word "improve" without context the general assumption is going to be skill, when the truth is you're concerned simultaneously with getting better as a player and increasing your Elo. I bring it up mostly as a semantic issue, it's harder to give you good advice when it's unclear what your priorities and goals are. If you're able to completely dominate your opponent then it's advantageous to stay in your lane, but even then only for a time. If you've killed your opponent four times already without dying they're worth a mere 135g. At that point it's more advantageous to push to tower and take objectives than to hang around picking up kills that are worth less than a single creep wave. In other cases you may only have 1-2 kills and a 30 CS advantage, but further kills are proving difficult because your opponent is playing defensively. In those cases it's generally better to shove the lane and make something happen elsewhere. This also spreads the rage around. There's nothing that sparks infighting as much as a fed laner roaming and bringing misery in their wake. "you fed gg nub afk ff@20" Yeah, semantics mostly. I wish to become a better player (in kind of the broad sense of the word, in that I feel like my skills/reactions/knowledge are better than they are now), and I think rising in ELO (overall, not immediately) is directly related to that.
I find roaming to be possible as many tops, but I don't really know what to do with it when I'm playing AD. Obviously I don't have a lot of CC, so ganks are middling, and even if we gank mid it's not like Ez or Cait can really dive the short lane, not like the jungler or top can. I'd rather do things like push and take Dragon/invade Blue/Red, but convincing solo queue players to do that is an exercise in frustration for the most part :\

why are you worried about roaming as AD? Every time a low elo player (hope i didn't hurt anyones feelings or ruin anyones day by using that term) asks what he does wrong, it's always something like i'm winning all my lanes but still losing games, or I'm always outcsing by 1000 but still losing, or I'm always 10 levels ahead but die when I get focused by whole team, then followed by some implausible question like, should I be ganking all three lanes when i'm winning top? Should I be 10-0 in lane after I get first blood? Should I be making 15min baron calls when I'm 1k gold ahead of the other top? If you're not realistic about what you're bad at, there's no point asking anything. Post a replay and stop making these brag questions to look for sympathy.

Seuss had mentioned in his post that it is occasionally better to push and roam than just sit in lane and win against someone who you've already won against. This is simple in top lane, as people like Jayce, Rengar, Malph, Shen, and even Garen have pretty good roaming potential. Even easier in mid lane as champs like TF, Brand, Ryze, and the like. But there's really no equivalent for bot lane.
Which also leads to awkward situations where I end up pushing bot and taking the tower quickly, but everyone else is just sitting and farming. I can no longer do that, as the enemy bot will just let it push and safely farm it past river unless we're warded out the butt. I suppose the smart job would be to take tower, and then go pseudo-teamfight in other lanes, but at that point you're a very under-farmed AD carry (unless the other laners are donating their farm, which rarely happens in solo queue) and not doing as much as you could.
I've had a handful of games where I only get 1-2 kills on Cait (so not enough to rush IE and win at 20), but take tower quickly. Then I can't really do much until my later items except kind of show up to fights and put some damage on, then try to get safe farm where I can.

IMHO the community is not clearly sensitive enough when it comes to flaming. I dont understand why its so hard to build this community on positive stuff, not "get cancer" talk. :< The league community would honestly be a lot better without reddit. It's the worst source of drama. Imagine if we didn't have reddit, no one would really care about Froggen flaming some random guy in one game. No one would really care about Dyrus. Even when we've talked about drama on TL it's been relatively civil. On reddit it's basically a ton of people shit talking pro players or teams non-stop and getting worked up over the smallest shit. Compared to what the pro players were like a year or so ago the stuff Froggen said in that one game was nothing compared to some of the shit Hotshot or ocelote used to pull on a daily basis. reddit is like the best league site dont be jealous funniest shit happens on reddit and dont lie every single one of you here browses reddit anyways lol I don't. Yes really.

If it sounds like I'm bragging, I apologize. I'm the first person to be aggressively pessimistic and self-depressive, so if I ever sound like I'm full of myself, just assume it's a musing rather than a boast. However, I will not discount the fact that I do occasionally win lane, and do so pretty one-sided at times. My question, as I haven't used LoL Recorder for some time and I'm also at work, is what is the general thing to do in those situations? The phrase "go make things happen elsewhere on the map" is about as vague as humanly possible.

FXO.Aphromoo would be nice!
I thought EG "hated" LoL and didn't want a team? Although I wouldn't be surprised if things changed, would be very odd if they'd miss out on one of the biggest esports.

TOO said in stream once before worlds, that they were trying to scrim against CLGeu, but it was hard because they started fighting super hardcore, said it was just like TRM vs the rest in the old days of TSM.

Honestly if you're winning your lane hard as AD you should be winning the game.

anyone know what the rules are for posting a stream thread? :o or should I just post it in the official TL stream thread thing

Everyone keeps saying oh, "act professionally". Do you guys even watch pro sports? Majority of those players are even less professional than LoL players. So just because he's froggen he's suddenly allowed to flame anyone in his games? I think it's ok for pro players to rage - it's something everyone does. But we shouldn't just rush to their defense just because he's a pro player. It's like someone famous spitting gum on the sidewalk. It's not the right thing to do, but a lot of people do it so we shouldn't try to crucify for him. But we shouldn't just instantly assume it's ok for said famous person to do it just because he's famous. Lol I'm okay with anyone flaming tbh. I don't even like froggen, he's overrated.
