IMHO the community is not clearly sensitive enough when it comes to flaming. I dont understand why its so hard to build this community on positive stuff, not "get cancer" talk. :< The league community would honestly be a lot better without reddit. It's the worst source of drama. Imagine if we didn't have reddit, no one would really care about Froggen flaming some random guy in one game. No one would really care about Dyrus. Even when we've talked about drama on TL it's been relatively civil. On reddit it's basically a ton of people shit talking pro players or teams non-stop and getting worked up over the smallest shit. Compared to what the pro players were like a year or so ago the stuff Froggen said in that one game was nothing compared to some of the shit Hotshot or ocelote used to pull on a daily basis. reddit is like the best league site dont be jealous funniest shit happens on reddit and dont lie every single one of you here browses reddit anyways lol
For quick information it's good. But the reddit community in general is awful and way worse than TL. They create drama out of nothing. Their discussions on balance and champions are pretty bad as well.

mMe just released Ferus. Wtf is going on lately....so much change happening.

If people made this big of a deal out of Theoddone rage, then reddit would be twice the size it currently is topic and post-wise.

If EG or coL were serious about wanting to pick up a LoL team now would be the perfect time to do it...

Ho the drama, reddit would blow.

main problem with reddit is that if you want a lot of upvotes (they call it karma whoring?) you need to find the majority opinion and state it. Minority opinions get downvoted even though they tell people that is not the function of the downvote button. This generally results in a gigantic echo chamber effect where everyone climbs onto the opinion of the day while dissenting voices get downvoted to hell
This is why, to an outside observer, reddit is one giant hivemind whose opinions flip flop daily

Both teams expressed an interest in picking up a LoL team. But cited that they didn't because there wasn't any good talent available at the time. mMe Ferus has a lot of talent and if they pick up/picked up a good top laner they could probably be in the running for top 3/4 in NA. So if coL and EG were serious about wanting a LoL team but not seeing enough talent now would be perfect.

Don't read comments unless you're really really interested, just browse through posts and pictures. Finding the right subreddits is pretty important too, most are shit, but there are some real gems out there.

I feel that if I play safe and do well, I generally can't carry hard enough (solo queue being what it is) since I'm not making aggressive plays and getting fed. On the other hand, making aggressive plays sometimes leads to deaths (occasionally many, admittedly), which isn't good and can lower morale (and by that I mean incite flaming and shitstorms).
When you're trying to improve and play well, how do you handle it? Try and make (potentially catastrophic) plays and be the hero, or play cautiously and try not to start rage? It sounds like you're trying to improve your Elo, rather than your abilities, as otherwise the rage/flaming of your allies would be almost completely irrelevant. I think we've had this discussion before, but I still view these as one and the same. If my abilities improve, I will play better and win more, and therefore my ELO will improve. There's nothing wrong with enjoying validation of a visual representation of your progress. But ELO is in the end inconsequential, just a nice way to see how you're doing (carrying enough games to rise 100 ELO is always a nice feeling, for example). Show nested quote + The truth is that unless your lane is a blowout in either direction carrying in solo queue has very little to do with the laning phase. At some point you've probably played a lane where you had a significant advantage, only to have your opponent prey on your other lanes and come back to win the game. That's carrying, and it doesn't require anything other than the game sense to be in the right place at the right time taking the right course of action.
It may just be my personal experience, but a lot of times in the lower ELOs, roaming doesn't count for nearly as many kills as one laner getting ahead and his opponent not knowing how to play against it. But it could be just me :\
Improving skill is related to increasing Elo, but obviously the two aren't one and the same given that factors such as emotional state, physical/mental condition, charisma, and to an extent luck all factor into Elo. So when you use the word "improve" without context the general assumption is going to be skill, when the truth is you're concerned simultaneously with getting better as a player and increasing your Elo.
I bring it up mostly as a semantic issue, it's harder to give you good advice when it's unclear what your priorities and goals are.
If you're able to completely dominate your opponent then it's advantageous to stay in your lane, but even then only for a time. If you've killed your opponent four times already without dying they're worth a mere 135g. At that point it's more advantageous to push to tower and take objectives than to hang around picking up kills that are worth less than a single creep wave.
In other cases you may only have 1-2 kills and a 30 CS advantage, but further kills are proving difficult because your opponent is playing defensively. In those cases it's generally better to shove the lane and make something happen elsewhere.
This also spreads the rage around. There's nothing that sparks infighting as much as a fed laner roaming and bringing misery in their wake. "you fed gg nub afk ff@20"

I understand that changes are going to happen at the end of Season 2. But why would they drop a team that I thought was doing reasonably well? Is it because of their weird roster lately? Oo.
