On another note, has anyone read this topic on reddit about PhantomL0rd? Apparently people donated over $5000 or so to him, with some individual donations reaching $1000. What I wouldn't give for $1000 right now... Uh...did I miss something? Is there a reason people are donating to him besides the fact that they happen to like him? What about the fact that he's generally pretty BM and douch on stream, albeit entertaining at times?

Donating thousands of dollars to a man that already gets thousands of stream viewers and charges redic money for lessons seems a bit silly but I guess people can waste their money how they want.

He was talking about his time on v8 and how the stress of being a pro player or not being good enough really hurt him a lot, etc. etc. People started donating to cheer him up and he started crying after 500$ so then people donated 1000$ >.>

While I am not a fan of PhantomLord's stream plenty of people are so it's not surprising to see people give money to something they enjoy watching. As far as people liking jerks, well everyone hates someone. I mean did you know people don't like Day9 or Gman Bob? Mind Boggling but true. It stands to reason then that if people dislike those guys, then someone has to like Phantomlord enough to give him 1000$.

Can you imagine being like the mother or girlfriend or grandfather of some of those donaters? "Sorry I couldn't come visit this Christmas, gramps... I spent my winter and summer bonus and all my overtime hours donating to a guy who plays video games all day. Merry Christmas!" Again, people can spend their money however they want, but it's still a bit depressing how some people choose to spend it haha

The fact that someone like phantomlord was also able to exploit the community in the same/similar way isn't really surprising at all. Chauster had a pretty funny comment when someone asked him why he gets so little stream viewers. He pretty much said that people watch for entertainment and not skill so no one watches him. If they watched for skill then he'd be getting the most viewers. It was cocky but sad and true.

I just feel bad for Chauster cuz he is seriously amazing at everything but instead people watch Plord scream at his monitor while smurfing at 1200 Elo. I think Chauster just needs to fucking put his mic up. It's always too quiet.

Those Twitch games lol. But I do miss the AD commentary to learn stuff.
