Must learn to not bait teammates.

I think if you are getting stomped or feel uncomfortable of your lane matchup just ask someone who is doing good on your team for advice, this isn't ranked so you hopefully won't get a douchebag answer like "JUST STOP FEEDING SCRUB"

It's probably okay to ask enemy laner as well since the point of this is to improve. Especially if you're laning against somebody better than you, you might die without knowing what you did wrong. Your team won't necessarily be watching to figure out why until after the fact. Also you can ask spectators after the game.

Just a few mistakes I saw from people(keep in mind some of them are lower level players, mostly related to top). Enemy laner right clicks you, you right click back because "I can't let him get a free hit". Proceed to die to 10 creeps. That's a positioning mistake. If there are 10 creeps in a lane, it's going to push, quite quickly at that. At that point, especially melee vs melee, you just sit in exp range and wait for it to hit tower because you aren't going to lose more than 1-2 CS anyways when it pushes that hard.

Keeping advantages - If you got a kill on the other guy, spend some of that money on a ward. In a lot of matchups, assuming you don't make multiple bad trades, the only ways for the other guy to come back is to either outscale(irelia, jax and a few other champs), or ganks. I saw one game where top half of the map had one ward in the first 20 minutes. Unless you get fed to the point where you can take both jungler/mid and toplaner at once, you should keep warding.

This is alot Of fun. I feel like I have good mechanics and it's just game knowledge/experience holding me back so this is great. Now if only we could get high elo players to spectate and critique.
Is it weird that I play most of my online games at work? And that it's a pizza place??

For ahri vs ryze:
+ Show Spoiler +
alright let me give you a list of things i noticed
Navitar (10:05): first, the opening
Navitar (10:05): why do you like meki2pot?
Navitar (10:05): cause it definitely has its perks
Torjuu (10:06): mostly to farm
Torjuu (10:06): i use q alot for last hits
Navitar (10:06): mm okay
pyrotwin (10:06): hard to dodge those skillshots without boots though
Navitar (10:06): good to know your reasoning
Navitar (10:06): agree with pyro
Navitar (10:06): its very important
Torjuu (10:06): shouldnt really have been dueling give the setup
Navitar (10:06): im gonna first give my advice in here
Navitar (10:06): for every1 else who wants to read it.
Navitar (10:06): we were doing ahri vs ryze
Navitar (10:06): as ryze, since ahri has 2 skillshots
Torjuu (10:07): yeah, i couldn't really counter your last hits either
Navitar (10:07): having boots will allow you to dodge the longer ranged ones more easily
Navitar (10:07): for what you mentioned
Navitar (10:07): about using q to lasthit as ryze
Navitar (10:07): its pretty mana inefficient imo
Shiogi joined the room.
Navitar (10:07): and if the opponent sees you lasthit with q
Navitar (10:07): that gives them free space to harass you in
Navitar (10:07): without fear of being counterharassed by your q
Navitar (10:07): and then back off especially if you dont have boots
Navitar (10:08): cause you can't catch up if you dont use your w
Navitar (10:08): but in either case
Navitar (10:08): using w / using q to lasthit
Navitar (10:08): you will be running oom very quickly
Navitar (10:08): even with meki2pot
Navitar (10:08): if i have to summarize what you need to improve in 3 phrases
Navitar (10:08): it'd be 1. lasthitting with autoattacks primarily
Navitar (10:08): 2. counterharassing / harassing at all
Navitar (10:09): 3. i forget
swim224 (10:09): lol
Navitar (10:09): oh yeah
Navitar (10:09): 3. mana management
Navitar (10:09): a lot of people have trouble with 3
Navitar (10:09): even at higher elos
Navitar (10:09): cause they think too hard on 2
Navitar (10:10): hmm.
Torjuu (10:10): fair enough
Navitar (10:10): maybe ill post this in the thread
Navitar (10:10): instead
pyrotwin (10:10): i actually run movespeed quints on ryze along with boots vs skillshot champs, dunno how common that is, but ryze needs to be fairly passive early, doesnt really have the mana pool to duel early
Navitar (10:10): so that others can get the advice s well
swim224 (10:10): alright! Does any1 else want to join us?
Navitar (10:10): i run movespeed on a LOOOT of champions
Navitar (10:10): but a lot of others dont
Navitar (10:10): so preference

continuing:
1. being able to lasthit with your autoattacks only allows you to save your skills for harassing / counterharassing with your spells. this also ties in with
2. if you set up a predictable pattern of lasthitting, your opponent can go in for autoattacks when you go for an autoattack. and they should get away with an extra if it time it correctly. the things that prevent people from going with this aggression is a combination of counterharass (especially if your spells are stronger / have more cc at that level) and creep aggro, as creeps tend to do a LOT of damage earlygame. so when you set up a lasthit, ideally the opponent has a lasthit that they would miss when they go for the counterharass AND they will eat some creep aggro when they go for the attack.
3. try not to waste too much mana at level 1, as ryze's q is pretty damage - mana inefficient at level 1 (most spells tend to be). even with meki opening, you ran out of mana very quickly, and i had no threat of being counterkilled as a result post 3.

I think it's an interesting idea to post it on this thread. It seems like it may benefit more people, and can be saved for later use in a miscellaneous information type of thread on TL.
