That probably makes more sense, particularly as Riot doesn't assign circuit point value to any Asian tournaments.

It's probably going to be 3 NA/3 EU from circuit points, plus 1 more from each qualifier, making 4 NA, 4 EU, and 4 Asian teams.

CLGeu v Teamless for Curse Invitational

Thanks, I would have missed that.

The Curse Reign of Gaming tournament looks really good. Has all the good teams the offline finals with 4 NA and 4 EU teams.

bracket:
http://www.lolpro.com/tournaments/176-curse-presents-the-reign-of-gaming-invitational/tournament-bracket

Nice first game between CLGeu and teamless, TL won.
CLG bottom lane is lately doing worse than usual imo, especially Krepo is not as his best.
Froggen with another outstanding performance was not enough to carry.

And TL takes the second game with some scary play from Tabzz's Fizz and Kottenx's Nautilus - yikes. Wickd wasn't really on form today, was he?

Are TL an amalgamation of WW and AL, or a one-off thing for this tournament?

Well I dont think Wickd could do much against the tower dives just like bot could not do much about it..
CLG apparently planned to do a 3 man gank on Vlad at lvl 1/2 and then steamroll on top. That gank did barely not work out though.

And then CLG died to what they die so often. 3/4 man ganks and tower dives in early mid game.
They are not good at dealing with roaming, lack map control somehow.

They always had the same problem when playing against aaa who do similar stuff.

They probably all focus too much on their individual lanes.

I think circuit points lay out seeds and invites to the regional qualifiers in NA/EU. Then top 4 in the qualifiers move on to the World Championship

While Team Solo Mid has already clinched a berth in the North American Regional Finals, other teams are still in the hunt as they battle it out in the remaining stops on the Challenger Circuit

Doesn't seem that way from the Riot announcement - TSM will still be playing in the regional finals. NA and EU regional finals will have teams based on circuit points but the Asian ones will probably be open sign up with priority to the pro teams. I can see 3 NA/EU, 2 CN/KR, and 1 TW/SEA for the final distribution.

At least they are only wasting 1 slot on Southeast Asia.

Some might accuse me of my typical hyperbole, but Im 99% sure I cant remember a single instance of a SEA team ever doing anything but lose at a LAN event.

When's the last time we saw an SEA team at a high-profile LAN event?

M5 didn't even exist at the time of Dreamhack and look how good they are now. Using games that old to measure ability is hardly any indication.

Well you actually phrased it very cautios for a change, because you only claim to not remember them doing good.

But yeah you are surely right, not much to expect from SEA. And how could it, the player pool is way to small to build a scene that can compete with Korea/NA/EU. I mean, it is basically just Australia and Malaysia.

And yet Singapore/Malaysia/Philippines have fielded some of the best competitive DotA teams in the world.

Then we MIGHT get a team that doesnt suck. Rather have the chance of having 1 team that is good (or conversely, a single shitty team) over the much smaller chance of having 2 good teams (especially when we KNOW we can get good teams from other reigions).

Personally I think it's just a damn shame that Taiwan and Hong Kong get lumped into a single qualifier for only 1 spot, so TPA and CG can't both qualify.

QFT. Really disappointing. But oh well. Hope TPA make it.
