Are you trying to 100-0 him? I play Teemo a lot; my playstyle/understanding is not to try to kill opponents outright, but to harass/annoy him to death. Typically, I just try to push people out of lane through poison darts, only going for the kill if I have a huge HP advantage.

That's more or less what I wanted to do, but he would commit, and since my items were better I thought I could win. Somehow despite not landing a single shield, having retarded items, and being blinded for half of his ult duration, he would still come out ahead.

Enemy Warwick and Malzahar were camping my lane actually, it was pretty annoying. I never died to their ganks though, Sion had no kills or assists.

Commit as in stunning and running up to you? I usually pick merc treads since Teemo should be running away a lot. If he commits, I'd run away after the stun, then turning around and shooting a couple darts at his back when he backs off.

that's because teemo sucks dick. Literally the only thing he's good for is kiting melee heroes in lane and half the time he can't even do that. His net impact on the game is to steal assist gold from your support. Late game he barely has any more damage output than a soraka with the same items. Pick teemo when you want to out-troll the guy who picked eve.

You're just saying that because you just know bad teemos.
Teemos is incredible at asserting map control and completely denying farm to certain heroes, and with a Frozen mallet he's like the most annoying champ in the game.

teemo is one of the best counterpicks
he dunks so many top lanes
similarly with lebland, you pick her to kill certain enemy mids (fiddle, fizz, etc)
If you can crush them hard enough you have justified your mediocre/poor late game.
Teemo isn't even that terrible late though. Properly built he can still 1v1 just about anyone reliant on attacks.
