Maybe to keep it LoL-related I'll just say that my favorite streamer is HotshotGG or jiji whenever they're on; favorite frequent streamers are probably saintvicious or Dan Dinh. no its down.
on topic, dont really like watching any streamers besides jiji and sv.
mute every streamer though. most of them are just annoying as fuck

saint was master's league in SC2? Stopped playing SC2 before master's was even made but isn't that kind of hard to get into?
|
No, its not. Its like being 1600 rating in LoL.

You can a-move your entire army into mid masters level. Husky starcraft is "masters" league....and he's husky starcraft .... Then you need to actually try to get higher though.
Edit: I'd compare mid masters to like 1600-1700 elo. Decent understanding, decent play, but you're still not comparable to top players and have a lot of room to improve here and there. Maybe 1900 EU solo q though trollolol.

Masters is the top 2%. Wasn't gold the top 1% last season or was that plat? wow my numbers were way off ^_^

Doublelift such a negative nancy. Calls almost every LoL caster bad at best ok. One of his reasons they were bad was because they didn't know items and abilities, but really mixing up names is not a big deal for casters and is a common mistake. Then Day9 spreading the wisdom about how aspiring casters should cast despite criticisms.

Actually, Masters would be the rough equivalent of gold in LoL: The top 3% of players are above 1520, which is roughly what Masters is in SC2.
If you want the rest of the list:
Plat is top .2% Gold is top 3% Silver is top 10% Bronze is top 25%
So basically breaking 1250 is a HUGE accomplishment in terms of the actual number of people who play ranked.
Of course, the only thing that REALLY matters is that the list can be broken down like this
Plat: 99% chance of being terrible Below: 100% chance of being terrible.

I'll be honest, I don't much care if a caster doesn't know exactly what every champion does or mistakes an ability or item or whatever. What I mind is that every caster in LoL is so boring. How am I suppose to get excited about the game when the commentators don't?

I think Jatt just said he's casting the European thing this weekend. If only I didn't have to work. I'd kill to watch some Jatt commentary.

pls guys. comments like these are full of shit. Being one of the best 3% in something that is competitive is never 'easy' except you are extremely gifted. Also your statement on how its done is so wrong on many levels.

What bugs me with this list is the following: I almost never see people who play under 1200 Rating. Maybe its just my selective perception but i just doesnt seem to fit.
Of course, if youd add all those people who dont play ranked at all or arent even lvl 30 yet id assume that you would come to similar numbers like you stated above.

One thing that people forget is that masters is the top 2% of active players, which if i remember right is people who have played in the past two weeks. So masters is much higher than top 2% of all accounts. I believe LoL uses percentage of all accounts that have placed in ranked so the percentages having different meanings.
That being said getting masters in SC2 really isn't that hard and anyone who is able to be pro in one game should be able to get there pretty easily.

While it is true you can learn just one timing attack to get to masters, saying that it is easy is straight up false. Though I am curious to see where most LoLers rank for SC2
Poll: SC2 1v1 Rank?Masters+ (16) 50% Diamond (8) 25% Plat (6) 19% Lower (2) 6% 32 total votes Your vote: SC2 1v1 Rank? (Vote): Masters+ (Vote): Diamond (Vote): Plat (Vote): Lower

I'm curious how many of those master players are also plat season 1.

I like that Doublelift used the word "gimmicks" when talking about M5. That's pretty much exactly what M5 looked like with a lot of the stuff they did and got away with that tournament. I really wanna see how the next few months go. If M5 gets dumped on by people who are prepared for those gimmicks or if M5 can come up with new tricks.
Everyone on SotL except for Xpecial thinks Irelia beats Shyvana in lane. Wickd and SYDTKO go so far as to say that it's not even a close lane. And now is the time that I get bored of SotL. Was cool to see Day9 on though.

I'm pretty sure if you are below 1200, it doesn't show your rating.

Maybe I'm a little biased since I had 10years of BW practice before hand, but I found getting masters to be a complete joke even playing random, and playing against people that are absolutely clueless about how the game works and rely on one build for each match up and practice that and only that and insta lose the second their one timing fails. Then again this was a BW site for a very long time known for having the most hardcore community as everyone else up and left the game long before sc2 came along.
I'll edit my statement to: Anyone on TL should be able to get masters with one build for each match up, the mechanical requirements are low enough that anyone trying can do it.
