I don't get what you picking ashe would have anything to do with him picking teemo.

Teemo is overrated as a counter to top lane bruisers kinda. He's strong but it's not like he totally denies them of all cs. Probably a reason that few people play him now.
Rainmans teemo couldn't stop Dyrus singed from getting some farm in DH, and singed has weaker sustain than most other bruisers and can't even catch teemo.

It seemed a really odd pick at the time because none of the aforementioned bruisers were in play.

15000000% ranged AoE slow = can't even catch him, what? Also singed can 1 shot waves really early. I dunno, as far as bruisers I like Teemo for countering, Singed is really low on that list.

I guess they had something going to top lane? Not like teemo usually is gonna come with you down to bot lane. His dmg type is hybrid, probably more so than kog'maw's, so I don't really understand why ban teemo at all :x
and yea slayer, maybe hard counter is too strong word, but would you honestly say teemo is worse at denying the regular top lanes than any melee dudes would? Blind shot, speed burst and a freaking annoying dot, plus the shrooms to provide so much security while you lane.

Mostly I just like Teemo vs. Garen, Udyr and the super unpopular Lanewick. But sadly people rediscovered nimbleness and dodge, so all those matchups are less awesome than they used to be because there are a lot of weird sit-around-and-wait-for-a-nimbleness-proc strats that can let them get in on Teemo.

Teemo kinda loses to singed, or at least has to be careful, because after the point that singed can shrug off teemo harass he can just throw a w, flip him into poison, and just kinda kill him.

no he can't, if he does that you misplayed. teemo with move quick and boots 2 will escape from boots of swiftness singed with goop and ult on, I know because I did it the other day lol

i think if the teemo knows what he's doing he should be able to cripple any melee champion early and by the time they catch up you'll already be ahead enough that it won't matter.

To be fair I really had no idea whether or not this guy was any good at Teemo, the pick just didn't make any sense at the time and I thought I'd rather play it safe than sorry.

You don't know how good they are. Generally people pick stuff they're confident with...so banning a commonly played champion usually leads them to playing something they're even worse at -_-
