On August 11 2011 08:41 FakeSteve[TPR] wrote: seriously about 70% of my total games played in normals are still probably shen, was about 85% pre-30 lol. i really enjoy the champion but i do not play him anymore, ever, because he's terrible shen's early-game burst in lane is pretty strong, but mostly in the sense that he just frontloads a decent chunk of burst and can then back off. it's low-risk for a decent reward, because you're sure to outdamage them even if they shoot you a couple times. as far as consistent dps for ensuring a kill off his taunt, he's pretty weak and always has been why they're concerned with his miniscule burst i have no idea. i guess they just figure it's scary because he's an energy champ and most comparable skills cost mana, but shit. shen's problem is that lategame he becomes completely insignificant, because every tank with similar control or similar beefiness also outputs a shitload more damage than shen. by nerfing his early-game burst they basically just removed all of his utility rather than just half. i suppose the nerf on tf/panth/other globals is a stealth buff to Shen, but he is still garbage tier buffing his AP ratios makes zero sense at all. if you stack enough AP to make your one damaging spell a threat, all of a sudden you get rewarded with a quick death for taunting 4-5 of the enemy team in a good initiate. it's just split his role completely in two, he's either a really really shitty AP bruiser (pick gragas/rumble/vlad etc), or a really really shitty tank with one very short duration cc on a long cooldown and no additional threat (pick mumu/singed/udyr) | ||

shen's heal is sort of useful in lane but not noticable whatsoever in team fights. it would be more useful if the people i lane with would notice that I q'd a full hp creep right next to them when they're missing hp, but hey shen's shield is just useless. the problem with it is that beyond his 1.5second taunt, there is literally no reason to ever attack shen, ever. so what's a beefier shield gonna do? further encourage people not to attack him? he would need a complete overhaul for the shield to matter | ||

Female please! 2. Nerf male true tank (shen) into oblivion for no real reason 3. Make female "true tank." 4. Say they will turn male true tank into essentially tanky caster 5. ?????? 6. Profit I think by increasing sales of new female true tank and "new" tanky caster?? | ||

Attack range way longer. Pretty dicey so far for me. Here's what I've been running: Cloth + 5 pots opening Flash/Smite 0/21/9 Masteries Armor Pen Marks Flat Armor Seals Attack Speed Blues Flat Attack Damage Quints Skill order QEQWQR R>Q>E>W Like 3:55 clear, gets real dicey on blue, without a leash I seem to always be left with like 50 hp, but its pretty easy from there. Open to suggestions. I think i could shave a few sec off that time. | ||

First, throwing it on a high health creep and auto-attacking for health pushes lanes. Second, as you level and skill up Q the damage you deal decreases the number of attacks you and your allies can get on a given marked minion before it dies, decreasing the healing. It's a pretty odd skill overall. | ||
