So Nabber85 (those of you hanging in liquidparty eu know who he is) suggested that we do a 1v1 tournament, with stream and casting, during the christmas brake.
I absolutely agree with this and we (Nabber85, EquilasH and myself) have decided to hold a 1v1 tournament, information is the following:
The format will be as following:
Fotball world cup style brackets:
4 people in a league that has to play against each other. changed to 5 people to make the groups even (we had 10 sign ups).
top 2 go on to a normal bracket setup
During the league stage of the cup your are only allowed to play a champion once.
e.g if player 1 choses Mordekaizer in the match vs player 2 he is not allowed to play Morde against player 3 and 4.
The lanes will be:
mid and jungle
you are allowed to use the entire jungle
Victory condition:
first blood/first tower
Time and place: Time has been moved due to confusion regarding time, and the unavaliability of a heap of players. No reason to play trough with the few we have atm so I have decided to move it and give everyone (including myself) a chance of meeting up in time.
8th of January 2pm(14:00) GMT (3pm or 15:00 gmt+1)
EU server
Prizes:
1st place: E-pen size increase on EU+ 16 GB Mem stick from Scandisk
Groups:
(picking was decided by taking the participant and giving them numbers from 1-10 from top to bot then using random.org to pick a number and please each in number in the groups one after another (e.g. Equilash 1 goes into group 1 has that was the first number to get picket, while Kaisuko goes to group 2 because he was the second pick by the RNG)
WINNER:
Therealdevil wins the finals 2 -1 against Prime2092

Not to burst your bubble, but 1v1 in any DotA style game is fucking terrible. Olaf or Sivir will win 99% of the time against any heroes but themselves, and seeing mirror are boring. The heroes are nowhere near balanced around 1v1, as it's a team game. At least do 3v3s if you're planning on doing any serious tourney.
Not to mention runes will play a big part, so the older accounts will have huge advantages over the younger ones with not as many/as good rune set ups.

I'm almost 100% certain that Scip and Spine will be participating as well. Gonna get them to post here along with the rest of the slackers from LiquidParty.
Also, I think that we should allow players below lvl 30. Even with inferior rune pages and mastery setups I still think it could produce a lot of fun for them.

I think Equi is right - it's all about fun. Besides the fact they aren't lvl 30 doesn't mean they suck ^^; I'm in btw, name ingame - Kaisuko

I'd like to suggest you change the win condition to inhibitor down or 5 kills because first blood makes alot of legit heroes useless.
With keeping this win condition jungle turns useless aswell btw.
Also I'd like to point out that mordecaiser would pretty much be hands down the strongest hero in 1v1 :D

Edit: Also I haven't played morde for long but I think that Urgot would be able to beat him?

Count me in! brb praciticng urgot, I think he owns more 1v1 than ppl give him credit for. At least on EU level ;p As for rules, I am Cho main, don't expect me to agree, but they are necessary I guess.

Look at the victory conditions: First blood or First tower. I guess Morde is in the running too, but a jungle brolaf can come in and gank at 3 then push the tower to dead easily while the person b's, Sivir is a pushing beast and will zone most any other hero while pushing their tower, and Morde is...morde.

well in that case what about shaco? or a counter jungle gank if you see him going for someone who can jungle? I agree that Sivir can be a beast, and morde ofc, but I still think e.g. a good Kennen or Urgot player could handle her.

You realize how little hp turrets have in 1v1?.. Olaf's turret will almost be dead when he arrives at mid if he's jungling till lvl 3.
