Kerrigan is assassin but she doesn't deal a ton of damage, she is a setup hero for others, if you take her + tank you have two setups that don't deal enough damage, and then you have two supports that also don't deal that much damage.
The only reason why this might(and probably will) work here is because of Tyrande as solo healer against them, the person pulled from Kerrigan will get chained stunned to death and Tyrande can't do anything without cleanse and weak heals. Kael'thas is enough damage for the entire team. I'm continuously surprised when half of the pro games don't have KT bans in them... I'm a shitty ladder scrub, but I see KT + Li Ming bans in like 90+% of all my matches so I (wrongly) come to expect that similar heroes are banned in the pro games... but they don't ban them and actually can't really deal with them, which puzzles me. Li Ming is indeed a tier 2 hero at the pro level. Kael's prioritisation varies from map to map. You have to keep in mind that lllidan is a compulsory ban at pro level so it means that you have only 1 real ban per map. PBA's loss last game had more to do with giving up Tassadar and letting enemy grab Tass/Rehgar rather than losing to Kael. That makes sense, although in this first MVPB vs. eStar game, eStar clearly made a huge mistake to not ban KT... the first 5 kills against eStar have all been committed by MVPB's KT lol. Even Wolf was like "Yeah.... it's all KT." Every single kill has been by KT so far lol KT was first pick. You can't ban him over Illidan when the opposite team has the best Illidan player in the world on one of the best Illidan maps.
Also eStar is putting up a real fight, but I'm pleasantly surprised that Black is back to the level when they can style on them.

I think it's easier to counterpick vs. Illidan/ shut him down than to stop KT, especially when you have a game like the way this one played out. So much chaining and gravity bombs- including the one from the instant replay where MVPB won a 3v5 battle thanks to the triple gravity lapse and fire all over the place. I don't know... maybe you're right, but clearly they need to try something else in game two. (Also, in game two, MVPB banned Illidan instead of picking him... although this draft is pretty interesting overall too.)
Also eStar is putting up a real fight, but I'm pleasantly surprised that Black is back to the level when they can style on them.
Agreed! eStar is still a lot more polished than most of the other teams, which makes it that much more impressive when MVPB still manages to win decisively against them.

Kael'thas ignored on Cursed Hollow

As is Illidan Good to see an interesting draft.

Why is Illidan such a forced ban each time? Aren't there enough counters available with Muradin, Brightwing, Xul and any blinds/stuns?

That's what I think as well.

you can build your team to deal with Illidan and then get trashed by their 2nd pick Falstad

Tychus being played :O Like him a lot, curious to see how he'll do.

I'm glad to see eStar trying something a little uncommon there; they'll need something novel to beat MVPB.

Tychus is one of eStar's most played heroes and China is where Black picked up Tychus actually. They credited the Chinese ladder and pro players they scrimmed with after their Tychus games in Superleague.

what is really interesting is Cleanse on BW
|
They have Tassadar as a second support so I'm not too surprised at the cleanse; it's never really a bad thing to have if all your other support bases are covered, I think.

MVPB actually making some bad decisions for once.

True, but they were still down a talent choice, levels 12 to 13. And there were a bunch of other mistakes (e.g., brightwing getting ganked a few times, sonya getting to tributes too late).
Dominating second game by eStar! gg.

Stitches is good for BoE because he can sustain for so long due to his E and having Amplified Healing and Dampen Magic. He is usually my preferred tank pick for BoE.

Great third game by MVPB. Congrats!

Domination. That's all you can say about that game.
MVP Black was angry about losing a map.
