Even if you know that, I get the frustration, getting crushed multiple arenas in a row and going like 1-3, 2-3, 1-3 feels miserable. But that's part of it, have to deal with the downswings ![]() What this guy said. Arena is all about variance. Even professionals will have shitty runs. It's a lot like poker, in that there is a large amount of luck involved, but over the long run, if you're making the right decisions, you'll always come out ahead. If you're picking good picks, and playing the right plays, then eventually it all works out. Just make sure you're learning and constantly reevaluating your plays and style before flaming the game or RNG. I used to only get 1-3 wins per arena, but after some reading and some reevaluating of priorities in arena when both playing and picking, I now average about 5-6 wins, even with shitty decks.

I have only gotten beta access like 5 days agon and played maybe 5 arenas but still I think people averaging 7+ wins is bullshit. I played a lot of MTG in my early teens and playing correctly/perfect in hearthstone is a LOT easier than in magic, so it all comes down to variance as you said. There is huge variance in your draft and then there is variance in each game with your draw luck. Even if you play and draft perfectly I really dont see anybody _averaging_ 7+ wins.

I do my 10 damage, use one soulfire, and of course out of the 4 other cards in my hand, it picks the other soulfire to discard... oh well. RNG is a pretty decisive factor sometimes...

Clears your minions (or goes for face) with the hounds and then has mega card advantage :/ That's why you play a class with a hero power that doesn't suck and kill the buzzard every time.

I assumed you could silence "double health of a minion" (priest spell) and remove the health. Nope. It stays. There's no indication what's the full health of the creature either. It's completely fucking random and Blizzard just don't seem to give a shit about proper rules system. Eh? Silencing does remove divine spirit. However the way buffs work, its hard to see sometimes. Lets say the priest played a 6 hp Fen Creeper You attack into it with a 3 damage minion, so now the Fen Creeper is at 3 hp (remember that the max health is still 6). Next turn the priest plays Divine Spirit. Now the Fen Creeper is at 6 hp (with a max health of 12). So its actually a 12hp minion with current hp of 6. Following turn you play Spellbreaker and silence the minion. But the Fen Creeper still remains at 6hp. This is because silencing just removes the divine spirit magic effect and returns the fen creeper's max health to 6. It doesnt affect the current hp of the creeper. I hope that makes sense to you. This is also true for temporary health effects provided by aura units like Stormwind Champion.

Then it's at least a turn 4 play, pretty much every deck beats the hunter in board control before that, UTH doesn't change that, it's just an AI with minimal upside most of the time. I run druid midrange, never had a problem with Hunter rush. It's a deck like murlocs where it can get a nut draw and punish any stumbles by your deck, but it's still at least 65/35 if you play well and have a deck that isn't horrible.

I clear all those, and finally he mind controls my tirion. Thankfully I was just playing a friend. God knows how hard I would have raged if it had happened in arena or ranked.
