it made me realize that we are not alone , i want to believe.

helped me to realize that people are dual-sided - consumer and producer. this I realized when I was a heavy SC consumer, whilst I could be a much better producer... then i deleted it. I still love SC.

Korean pro gaming scene made me realise how much practice and dedication is required to be on the top of the competition. It also gave me a lot of fun of course.

Made me realize K-Pop is awesome.

The game itself teaches you about multitasking, doing one thing at a time very precisely and quickly, and being very attentive to things, and I think it helps in life. Watching pro players teaches you how to behave in a stressful, competitive situation where something very important is at stake. There is one player especially, BiSu[Shield], with his neutral expression and calm, decisive manner, who made me aware of the importance of controlling your emotions in situations where you have only one chance to show your best ability e.g. while taking exams in an academic environment, the driving license exam, and many other things.

joy of 11:0'ing my friends, and have them still want to continue.

Well, after playing 13 hours of nonstop Starcraft, the next day I was in an argument with my friends when the conversation went:
It was his fault no it EN TARO TASSADAR A KHALAI--
Kinda awkward silence after it.

As my macro and micro improved, I also saw a connection to everything outside of game. My multitasking in general improved dramatically.
I'm a manager in real life so on the work floor is where I noticed the biggest difference. Needless to say, those who work under me hate it but at least now they earn their pay in its entirety.
Edit: I don't know if I would consider this a change in 'view' on life though. I don't really know what view on life StarCraft would change. lol
hahaha

I see a lot of people replying as if the question was 'how does SC affect your life?' hrm.... or is it the same thing -_-;;;;

I learnt that any idiot can play halo or need for speed, but it takes a skilled mofo to be pro at starcraft. There's actual strategy involved and not just mindless killing. So I feel better about myself for playing a difficult game, but I feel shitty because I know no matter how much I try, I will always be a foreigner who will never be allowed in the proleagues

It made me belittle the skill required in every other game.

That trial and error is simply apart of life.

Ya, my WoW playing bro keeps telling me that i'll never be high up in SC cos it's impossible for me, whereas he is closing in on 1850~ (w/o vent)
What a terrible comparison :D

starcraft made girls jealous of me and avoid me because i make them feel inferior.

Starcraft, and to some extent Magic the Gathering, showed me how much I like competition. How much I like winning a game off of my own merits. Improving my own skills as a player and competing against all types of adversaries. It gave me the integrity to accept defeat and to analyze what I did wrong and try to fix it in the future.

It made me talk like a Korean commentator. and It made me belittle the skill required in every other game. that too
