It has made me realize that we live in a finite universe. There is always a "best" way to do something, and that we are a society based on results.

I've become more analytic than I normally am, I've realized that practice is the best way to do stuff, the best way to learn is step by step, block by block. It's taught me to be good mannered and light about things. I like to think I'm more confinement, but I'm not to sure about that.. Umm thats all I can think of atm.

It changed how I think to a certain extent. I multitask more naturally now and don't put up with bullshit. If something is going right, I don't just watch it work; I move on to something else. I'm always F2-F3-F4ing through life now.

It changed my view on racial equality. Before playing SC, I thought every race was equal. Now I know protoss are fucking imba!

sc led me to poker. poker is a great source of income where i don't have to answer to anyone and i create my own work schedule. i wouldn't be good at poker without the 8 or so years i spent learning bw and forming that strategic and analytical mindset where I feel no emotions.

i guess bw made me intellectually stronger, and made me look at things with a more open mind.

You need to grind your basics. You need to set goals, without goals you wander and get lost. Basically I make comparrisons with starcraft, and I'll be like "what would I do if this was about starcraft"

Starcraft always kept me going when I had nothing to do, the fansites became a daily place to visit together with the daily news. It taught me how to accomplish things, not just by winning games but by creating maps, playing with friends, forming clans and fooling around over battle.net. It has also shown to me that if you want something - it's always better to try and get it yourself other than just sitting alone waiting for it. I started to play when I was ~10 years old so it also taught me english, I met friends from other countries so I now know bits from many parts of our world. Starcraft has always been this friend that is not just a game, it's a name for something filled with love and hate - the best of two worlds. (well three, Terran, Protoss, Zerg)

Edit: Also when I was in a ruff period of my life Starcraft literally became my friend and when I finally broke free from the depression I did not need my Starcraft friend anymore. A year later it found me again, we've been friends since. <3

The players are very inspirational as well. 16 year old kids dedicating their lives to the game? Really encourages me to do my best in whatever I want to do.
