When I saw the thread title, I figured, maybe the challenges of competitive starcraft taught you to try harder at the other things in your life that you're interested in, like academics, or a sport, or a playing an instrument, and gave you a sense of fulfillment whenever you accomplish something, whether it's winning an exhausting, heavily contested game on Destination, hooking up with the hot chick at school, or getting into a good college or something...like it did for me.
