Everyone hates on Linksys, but their newest WRT54-G v.8x routers have ditched the shitty Vx firmware and switched to Linux (easy install for 3rd party firmward, eg, dd-wrt micro) and beefed up the processor. Throw "dd-wrt micro" firmware on there, and just configure the Starcraft ports' forwarding (6110-6114 or smthg?) and dd-wrt is great for other shit too, like setting the highest priority for network packets destined for your IP (fuck your roommates).

1) Plug the internet directly from the modem into your comp. Do you still have problems? If yes, its your crappy DSL service. 2) Google is your friend http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r19887223-Best-gaming-router http://www.google.com/search?q=best gaming router&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a 3) Got a spare comp laying around? http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=aQr&q=smoothwall box for windows&btnG=Search

The 802.11b-g standard(s) operates on 2.4 gHz, with 84 Hz headroom. Microwave ovens emit waves on this frequency too, so do some cordless phones and some other things. You change the frequency by changing the channel. Try changing to channel 1 or 6, as these (and # 11)are the only chans who do not overlap. Anyway, my ISP is gonna send a new router but it was my dad who talked to them so I have no idea what router it is. I can just hope it's gonna work.
