Also, I breathe in with my mouth slowly for ten seconds, then breathe out slowly for ten seconds (with my mouth yet again). It helps slow your heart down, therefore calming you down. Try it out.

I don't think your question can be solved unless with drugs. Everyones different and some people just can't chill the fuck out for some reason. There are plenty of temporary fixes but that anxiety will always creep back up on some people. edit: actually I lied sometimes I go into a sick state of tilt when I'm waiting around for something that I feel I shouldn't have to be waiting for. Wow that erks the shit out of me but in general yeah I think a very healthy lifestyle is the only natural fix anything else we should know about?

When I need a break from starcraft, I don't just take a break, I have to download or upload or compress convert or do some background task just so that I'm not wasting my time being away from my computer. I go take a nap or something to calm me down, but I am never quite calm down when I can just sit and stare at my computer for like 1 minute before doing something. How do you guys get into a calm, submissive state of mind/being? methinks you have adhd, check with your psychiatrist. or stop taking ecstasy.

The closest thing that comes to it, is feeling between uneasiness and being pissed off - when I can't quite identify what triggered it (when I can, I try to deal with problem and it usually improves the mood). When that happens if I can't find a reason to explain the mood, I listen to tangram and mellow out usually under 8 minutes.. And because I've have done it so often since I was young, if I can't listen to it for whatever reason, I will close my eyes, and replay it in my mind - it works almost like a reflex and I usually manage to settle my emotions into a pleasant neutral. - it works for me, basically you condition a yourself to a mood state, using a piece of music as trigger.

To me it seems u spend too much time in the past/future. U are constantly analazing things which happened before or projecting things in the future. This is natural (and advisable IMO) for academic requirements, but it isn't healthy at all for ur daily life. I bet if someone watches you doing trivial things (cooking, chilling with friends, etc) they can see on ur face that u are wrestling with ur toughts. It used to happen to me at it really drains ur mental energy/focus. U'll be better for everything (at least in some degree) and feel overall happier if u fix this. To do so there are many ways and they work different for everyone, so try them all. Trust me, this is like the best thing u can do. Possible solutions: -Change ur attitude towards life. Assume u are the best person u know and therefore don't need to worry about shit unless it interests URSELF. Easier said than done ![]() -Don't try to not "think". Instead try changing ur focus, or better, GO OUT AND DO SOMETHING. By changing or focus I mean instead of worrying on something negative/upcoming event/old event, think on something u want to do NOW and how to do it. Even better, GO AND DO IT. -Drugs (I have used alcohol only btw ![]() -DO SPORTS THAT REQUIRE FULL FOCUS. Contact sports/WEIGHTLIFTING*. -Try doing meditation. You are consiously aware of ur problem, so fix it. Don't think on crap u don't need or care. *Learn to do full body exercies such as presses, squats and deadlifts. Not wussy curls with dumbbells.

Realize that life will unfold as it does and there's not much you can do to stop it as you are only an individual...this will either make you very angry with the world or you will realize there is nothing to get upset over I chose the ladder

and to the OP, I don't see what's the problem with your situation. you always need to do something and have difficulty calming down...where's the problem? as long as it doesn't keep you from sleeping, doing something every moment is actually an advantage in life, if you manage to do something useful in those times. i'm personnally very lazy and I would love to be able to actually DO something instead of browsing TL for 5 hours.

and to all the weed responses, don't take those seriously. At least for me weed would sometimes do just the opposite and I would begin to think even harder about whatever was bothering me, often coming to conclusions that would make me anxious.. Conclusion: do your best to stay active socially and physically.

Run/exercise to induce plenty of sweating -> shower -> masturbate -> smoke a cigarette -> lie down on your bed -> read something you might be interested in. When the feeling of uneasiness comes back, try to figure out what's causing it.

It obviously depends on the details of the OPs life, from current problems, to stuff that are already deeply in the core of his identity. Some things like listening to music might help you in the short term, but it's obvious that it's just covering up the problem that's bothering you, consciously or subconsciously.

Working out and having a decent healthy lifestyle, helps a lot to keep your cool almost all the time. Everybody have it's days and stuff, but doing stuff, running, cardio w/e you want it to be is excellent for your overall health and specially mental one. When you exercise, you burn a lot of toxins (?) that stay on your body until you sweat them out (or pee them ;P), if the amount of these is too high, you're more likely to be hyperactive and stuff. So yes, work the fuck out ![]()

Yeah, I was going to say that sounds like ADHD, especially since I have the same problem (I have ADHD too). Try reading a good book. I just finished Ender's Game, and now I'm reading this collection of over 100 short stories by Ray Bradbury. Whenever I'm feeling antsy, just reading one or two of those short stories helps a lot.

1. Ware yourself out by getting a punching bag and smacking the shit out of it. Or, you could work out until you have no strength left. If you can't tranquilize your anger, feed it until it is sated. 2. Practice Buddhism. I'm not saying you should convert but going to some Buddhist classes and learning to utilize incense and meditate would prove very helpful. 3. Porn. Either watch some relaxing lezie scenes and solos or watch the hardcore stuff to take your anger out. There are some really nice sites out there from which you can stream porn and also have videos listed by categories. Pick your favorite and begin the calming process.

I been skating for like 10 years now, everytime I get pissed off I swear to god I hop in my car and sesh at my local park. Skating calms me down so much. After you start skating long enough you can do tricks without really focusing on them its hard to explain but like I guess because if you repeat something enough it comes second nature or w/e. Learn to skateboard/ Spend some time learning a couple basic tricks...ollie/ Kickflip/Pop-Shovit/ half-cabs then when you get pissed or anxiety attack or w/e go sesh. Dont knock it til you try it~!

For me, i usually, first get away from whatever is pissing me off, then instead of trying not to think about it, or going all childlish and spewing all my anger into whatevers near me; i think about how stupid and ridiculous and useless is being pissed about whatever. Then it just goes away after a while and i can assess the same situation calmly. Try seeing a psycologist before trying out any drugs of your own. Punching walls, hitting animals, etc. may be not as serious but its definitely on the same road as drinking, doing drugs, whatever.

Take a long shower and just stand in the water, listen to calming slow music, watch some relaxing shows? Go outside and take a stroll someplace tranquil, that works wonders too.
