“This is as good a place as any to make a major announcement,” he said. “It’s true that this morning I’ve dismissed my entire team of advisers. All their positions will be held by a man named Joe the Plumber.” McCain then said some have questioned whether Joe the Plumber could possibly earn enough to have his taxes raised by Barack Obama. The answer is yes, McCain said, and for one reason: “Joe the Plumber recently signed a very lucrative contract with a very wealthy couple to handle all the work on all seven of their houses!” “I’m the underdog, but there are signs of hope,” McCain went on. “I can’t shake the feeling that some people here are pulling for me. I am delighted to see you here tonight, Hillary.” “Can somebody tell me what happened to the Greek columns I requested?” Obama said and then mentioned the hotel where the dinner was being held. “I do love the Waldorf-Astoria. I hear from the doorstep you can see all the way to the Russian Tea Room.” He then turned to Mayor Bloomberg and said that he is “going to be rewriting the rules and running for a third term. Which caused President Clinton to say, ‘You can do that?’ ” ... But Obama’s funniest lines were reserved for tweaking himself. “Contrary to rumors you have heard, I was not born in a manger,” he said. “I was born on Krypton and sent here by my father Jor-El to save the Planet Earth. “Barack is actually Swahili for ‘that one.’ And I got my middle name from someone who obviously didn’t think I’d ever run for president. “My greatest strength is my humility. My greatest weakness is that I am a little too awesome.”

Looks like he's gonna throw up. Honestly if America elects this guy (along with Palin) you will probably lose so much respect in the world. I agree with that but I'm curious what are your thoughts on Israel's political choices? McCain is conservative in the US, extremely conservative in most of W. Europe, and probably liberal-moderate in Israel. o.o Jibba, Israel political choices in recent years have been extremely bad. In many ways the "big players" (those who can aspire to be PM) in Israel politics are decided by the media (which is almost completely very left winged). Only exception to that has been Mr. Nethanyahu and the media did all it can to stop him from functioning and destroy his image. Just to demonstrate the madness that is Israel politics.. Sharon was elected for saying that Gush Katif is like Tel-Aviv and would never be destroyed (his official campaign). Shortly after he was elected with a vast majority, he changed his mind COMPLETELY (perhaps had to do with private investigation against him and his son) and decided to evacuate and destroy Gush Katif and give it to Hamas without any agreement.. He then formed a corrupt and very left wing party called Kadima together with his should be "rivals" using the right winged mandates he received in the election.. Democracy at its best.

Sharon would have been a hardline conservative in any other modern country. Yes, Olmert and co. are corrupt but the other side are essentially religious extremists. First of all I think there's a bit of a problem comparing the definitions of right, left, conservative and such between Israel and US as they are very different. What the left wing parties in Israel do and support would have never been accepted in the states by both major parties. just some of the things they supported and did: -Were against launching a real military attack against terrorists who constantly fire rockets at Israeli civillians for 8 years. -Destroying and evacuating peacefull and flourishing places (Gush Katif), giving the land to a terrorist organization(Hamas) and not compensating the people who were violently kicked out of their house. this things, and the list is much longer, would have never been accepted in the US by either major parties (if any at all). So in some sense to be "rightist" in Israel is basically to have common sense and be against crazy things such as that. It's a bit similar (thought not quite) to preferring Obama to start with because you think Palin is a security hazard and an idiot. Of course that's over generalization and there is a lot more to be said about the different views in Israel but the point is that what is considered "moderate" left in Israel would be considered unacceptable and plain madness in other countries. On Kadima, it has by Israel standards has a very leftist(Israeli definition) agenda. However Olmert, Livni, Sharon, Mofaz etc.. all came from the largest right wing party HaLikud. It is messed up if the majority of civillians vote for the right wing party, and without a new election the rulling party becomes a left wing party. Currently the only "mainstream" alternative to Kadima and Labor (which are basically the same thing) is Benjamin Nethanyahu heading what's left of Halikud but he is being pretty much murdered on the centralized Israeli media for the past 15 or so years. Israel future seems pretty gloom if you look at its politics..
