I keep missing your calls from the Blizzcon stage because I am on a conference call with a bunch of lawyers. Your brother Day is stuck outside in line, and has been there for hours. Any chance you can rescue him and sneak him in? Or would that be disgusting nepotism?
Good luck casting! My regards to Marcus--tell him I am still his biggest fan.
(With many apologies to the forum from a very old gamer lady. Please don't ban me).
This is total hall of fame material. =) It made me smile, especially with the consideration of the possibility of being banned -- She apparently knows her TL etiquette.
The best motherly gaming acknowledgement I've ever gotten is the typical 'note taped to monitor' routine, haha.

hmm if the admins say it's legit then it most likely is. And using their real names wouldn't really prove anything because it's not exactly hard to find out their names....
By the way I also thought it would be some kind of scorn (title is misleading, at least that is how my mom would start one), something along the lines: "hello dear, where have you been for the last 2 years?! in korea? oh no you didn't, me and your father expect you to be here tomorrow morning! you have to take out the trash"
My mom is embarrassing, if she did something like this I'd probably want to cancel my account and join GosuGamers.net on a different Screen Name. Haha.

I wonder if she read the wicker basket and airplane stories that Sean posted. Now that would be awkward.

ROFL I don't think it would be so far-fetched to assume she actually knows that one

hi mrs. laforge! =) it's really heart-warming and refreshing that we are not only exclusive to the younger generation and gamers but that there is room for family here.
just as the previous posters voiced: your sons are loveable

Is this going to turn into some Terminator-style plotline? Moderator goes back in time to ban user before the thread to end all threads can ever be made?

I cannot think of more of a nightmare than my mother posting on TeamLiquid, opening a post with "HonestTea this is your mother"
That said...
Mrs. Plott, it's been a pleasure to meet and treat Nick here in Seoul. Rest assured he's doing great, and I will not alarm you with our sordid tales of hedonistic debouchery... because, of course, no such tales exist!
Seriously though, I'm glad that we live in an internet age where things like this can happen. It's been great fun to cross paths with Nick, and I'm glad to also have with you, however briefly.

After Sean got into Blizzcon I didn’t check this thread anymore. So, it freaked me out a little this morning when I got online to find how much you all had posted.
Wow! Thanks so much for all the greetings! You guys are so great! Hugs to all!
A few quick comments: @ thrill: it was a THREE o’clock rule not a five o’clock rule (I was not totally rigid). Hi to you and bow back. @ prOxi.swAMI: Great idea! Done. (See below) @ StarnN: You are officially adopted. The family rule: Be funny. (If you are boring, you will be disowned). Now mow the lawn. @BuGziToOnl. I’m no good at Starcraft. But give me a quarter and I can stay alive on Zaxxon for a couple of hours. @ Carlking: “a carrier.” LOL! Genius. You are in the family too. @ Testie. I so DO NOT want to know what you are talking about. I slap you up the side of the head. @ gmTOSS. Photo for you below! @CFDragon. Full disclosure: I voted for myself. @ ghardo: Don’t you think more parents should support starcraft? @zachmorris. Jesus, Scott! Don’t use my real name. You think I want people to know these are my kids? @ llikestarcraft. I will go back to lurking quietly. I promise. @ Elvin_vn. That is EXACTLY what dinner sounds like at our house. That or “I can’t come to the table, I’m in a GAME.” @rekrul and HonestTea and all of TeamLiquid in Korea: thanks for being so great to Nick in Seoul. I am so proud of you all for pursuing your dreams and leading adventurous lives. Hope to meet you all (including Grrr and Elky) in Korea when I come visit. @ Yizuo: Live long and prosper!
@ ghardo: Don’t you think more parents should support starcraft?
i find it sad when i hear that Idra's (Greg) father still hasn't spoken to him since he made his decision to go to korea. but i guess that's how parents are sometimes and especially fathers. "liebesentzug" we call it in germany, "withdrawal of love" in english. my father is a specialist in that field as well.
so yes, parents should support their children in what they do if it's obvious they are really following their dream. and Nick is just absolutely fantastic over there. he's really building a bridge for all those who enjoy starcraft and also the ones who didn't know until now how great this game is. he is able to explain it to them and spark their interest with his captivating personality. in fact, i know many who watch it solely because of him even girls!

Whenever I see the thread title I think, "Uh-oh, Tasteless will be furious once he sees whatever the Hell is in this thread" but then I click on it and there's this sweet message to Nick from his mum.
It's TMNT 2, with snowball the polar bear intergalactic bounty hunter, the shogun with the detachable head, and the shredder clones. Similar to the arcade game.

A month from now people, this thread has a reason to be revived. Untill then i'd suggest that we leave it sleep and soon it shall rise again to judge living and dead threads.
wow and my mom still doesnt know how to use Facebook! Their mom is already using forums! I actually watched the "My Life of Starcraft" Day9Daily it was amazing

That would be horrible nepotism. Shame on you for promoting such wrongful acts in your children. They are so wonderful (Sean is one sexy beast) and you should not corrupt them with such thoughts.
P.S. The pains you endured at their births have graced the world with two of the greatest minds ever to play games. Your contributions to gaming culture shall be remembered for all time.
Wow, this post has made a bad weekend incredibly awesome. Unfortunately I can't see the pics for some reason except for day's. Regardless, definitely an epic post.
I'm so glad people bump things like this. I really don't see how this doesn't have as many posts as flash vs JD threads do. Come on people, she said "my angel". This cannot be more golden.
These kind of threads should be moved to a secure and preserving place. Something like "the hall of TL" where theres a bunch of these golden threads, that just dont need any more posting in. Cause it'll just defile them more. Keep them pure and unharmed.
Mrs. Plott is one of the people I respect most on TL (If not the most) An American mother who supports their children playing video games is almost unheard of not to mention a mother who lets their kids get out of school for video games.

lol, it sounded like it was intending to be a joke thread, but apparently there are ppl who can vouch its authenticity.
@ waffling1 If you read all her posts, you can see that she's been saying that over the course of a few years. I think it is a pretty good evidence, even if you dont have admin right to check IP and stuff

My mind is blown. I love old threads, and it's funny how this one still applies with Tastless casting the GSL and all. Gotta love nostalgia.

Once again like all of the nostalgia posts (for some reason they all seem to do with day or rekrul) I appreciate the bump. TL threads of a fame might be nice though I could understand why that would be silly to do.
