Reform having no seats is because it split the Tory vote and got the smaller half of the split. Anywhere the right dominated went Tory, anywhere the right was simply in the majority went Labour due to the split. Reform won over a hundred seats, it just won them for Labour. He doesn't receive any meaningful backlash. Can he face any consequences for his slander? Agreed. Musks agenda is fucking scary, and he uses the propaganda tool he bought to push it. And sadly there are enough useful idiots that believe him. The EU needs to find a way to handle this shit, and quickly. We are already at the edge, in another 10-20 years we will just have lost, and get some new technofascism. Which is way less cool than it sounds. We need to figure out how to protect our democracy from people like Musk or state actors like the Russian troll farms. Democracy starts in the minds of the people, and we are losing ours. | ||

The number of his followers would grow if you tried to make it happen. I think fighting populism like that is a terrible, counterproductive idea. We need to convince the potentially reasonable part* of his followers that they're wrong, we can't just plug our ears and shout "nooo I don't want to hear it and I don't want others to hear what I don't like". * - Some people can't be reasoned with but I think that should be like 3-7% of European voter base. The rest of populist voters is a failure that can be fixed. | ||

Meta too. The company [Meta] also updated its hateful conduct policy, adding new types of content users can post on the platform, effective immediately.
