The irony of an ultra-conservative accusing others of having dying ideologies... lol. While it's somewhat terrifying that someone on the "far right" feels emboldened enough to make a public post, historically your side has a pretty bad track record. You're the cause of the occasional "few steps back" as the rest of us make progress, so enjoy the next four years of your swastikas and white hoods and red hats while you can, because thankfully in the zoomed-out grand scheme of things, you're a dying breed.

Astupid question: Mao and Stalin... ~100 M dead.. does the far left have a good track record then? No, we just have to keep railguards in place. Any far anything ideology should be looked at with a very highly raised eyebrow and inevitably be curbed as they drown in their own overenthousiasm to extinguish lesser than theirs.
I say stupid because I generally don't like the: but what about them finger poitning. It's childish.

Don't forget the cat and dog holocaust caused by extreme far left border policy in the US in 2024.

I say stupid because I generally don't like the: but what about them finger poitning. It's childish. The far left aren’t really in the ascendancy at this juncture, I think it’s only natural for more concern to be expressed at the gains of further right populism.
‘But what about the far left?’ makes much more sense to express in say, 1930s Germany where there are appreciably large political movements and violence from either extreme.
Also happy cake day!

It's hilarious to me that Elon Musk constantly tweets about DEI regarding a matter that has nothing to do with DEI and his followers just go ape mode every single time. It's the boy who cried bunny but with the mass delusion that the bunny is a wolf. Elon Musk is literally a cult leader. He's running an international sect.

Pet owners were running scared during those days. I'm actually quite concerned that more people will never learn about the Haitian invasion of the US. I hope Trump makes a "remember the cats and dogs"-day so our grandchildren understand the gravity of it all.

This has been settled a long time ago, you can just want something to not happen to your mother, wife, sister, daughter, and not care at all if it happens, or actively want it to happen, to others, it's not a contradiction at all. You can want people to be deported from a country but you wouldn't want that to happen to you, you can want homeless people to be "dealt with" in ways that you wouldn't want to be dealt with, you can want people to be discriminated against for their gender or sexual orientation without wanting to be discriminated against for your gender or sexual orientation.
It's more or less the job description of the right to create conditions that are worse for people that are strangers than they are for people close to you.

First of all, men didn't just suddenly decide to give up some of their power to women; women also fought for their own right to vote, and shouldn't be excluded from some of the credit ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women's_suffrage_in_the_United_States ).
Second, our country is extremely split - down party lines - on whether or not we should have safe environments for women. Republicans (especially MAGA Republicans) are rape apologists who laugh off sexual assault confessions as "locker room talk", and they actively pass laws in red states that reduce medical care for women. Progressive men worked alongside women to win additional civil rights for women, but conservative men did - and continue to do - no such thing.

I think that there's a flare up every once in a while, but I also think that broadly speaking, the most backwards, regressive ideas generally die out (or at least become significantly neutered) when older generations disappear.

That is why social contract theory "settled" a long time ago the opposite of whatever the fuck you are talking about. There are already built-in mechanisms to deal with errant hypocrites, which people also implicitly understand, including the hypocrites themselves, which is why they hide.

None of that is true though. It's generally very hard to be punished for rape, and Acro was talking about generic sexual harassment for which it's even harder. Women are on the record talking about how hard it is to be believed, and it is common for women to adapt their behavior based on the risk of being raped (how they dress, how they interact with men around them, what signals they send (even to men they know well), how drunk they get at parties...). We also consume a lot of media in which women are objectified, which feeds into this general tendency. Society absolutely wasn't built around rape being difficult.
"Every man" didn't do anything and every man doesn't get an exception, that's not how anything works, it's an individual disposition toward people close to you. Think about, like, catcalling. Do you think everyone who has ever catcalled a random woman on the street would be supportive of their mothers, sisters, daughters being catcalled? Obviously not. You can have an opinion on how your sister should be treated that is not the same as your opinion of how women should be treated, because she's your sister, you recognize her humanity. You can be an anti-abortion politician and facilitate your daughter having an abortion if she needs it. When people create worse conditions for groups of human that they aren't a part of, they never mean people who they know.

I am pretty okay, the DEI has got me to feel not okay when it start doing its thing from the beginning. Just very much reminds me everything that was shit in China, why my family decided to pack up and go.
But anyway, I don't think most of these discussion has much of a value personally.
One of my friend mentioned to me how the left and right 50 years ago was so different, and something far right these days was the position of far left was positioned in, and vice versa. So that part doesn't really brother me to much. I don't have a problem at all with DEI's goal, and I am onboard of the goal, just the execution and implementation actually bothers me quite a bit, it just feels what it was like living through Great Culture Revolution in China. It resembles a lot of what the CCP does.
On a more funny note, the CCP's rise was based on the premise that it will make sure everyone are being an owner of their own life. Like the Chinese national anthem, the first sentence goes: "Rise up, the people who doesn't want to be slaves". And yet they just take away all the right to own a single piece of land in whole China, they are the only people who are technically to be allowed to own anything at all. I find that astronomically hilarious and stupid. DEI's current execution and implementation feels very much so the same I feel about how CCP is, and the stupid thing they do literally feels like they ripped a page of CCP playbook.

Call me crazy but I have the slight suspicion that Chinese people who have/had to endure the brutality of the CCP would feel just a wee bit offended at people drawing a comparison to DEI.

It doesn’t feel like you’re okay.
If that's the case, do me a favor and ban my account permanently, I don't see a reason coming back here anyway. bye.

Rabbit's long and partially-caps-locked rant did have similar vibes to an old man waving his cane at little kids playing, yelling at them to get off his lawn.

i wonder if the property DEI has stripped from private owners and placed into its own hands is in the room with us right now.
