Well, I guess if there's a silver lining at least we can use this to highlight the madness that the far-right instills in people with their propaganda. People are now comparing CCP crimes to Western DEI practices because they have insane idols such as Elon Musk and Donald Trump shepherding them. I don't blame people for falling for this large scale ideological grift. We can't escape the bombardment of misinformation and some people will inevitable have to fall prey to it.
It's like being surrounded 24/7 by cookies and sweets and all. Forget dieting in such an environment, you'll be lucky if you become only slightly overweight. Your discipline will eventually break.
"Think for yourself" or "do your research" turns into an impossible standard just as "stay healthy" or "maintain your diet" would. Misinformation-induced hypnosis in some individuals is guaranteed.

DEI has been an idea forever, it just now includes race and sex. For example the American electoral college gives small states relatively large representation in general elections. The founding fathers of the United States were fearful of the tyranny of majority, and put into place a system that was inclusive.
With Citizens United, money is speech, and I believe the billionaire problem came out of that.

You've been saying this for how many decades now?
What's wrong with making a public post? Are you violent or something?

"What's wrong" is equivalent to a communist (from your perspective, I'm assuming) feeling emboldened enough to publicly announce they're a communist, or a neonazi (from a leftist perspective) publicly announce they're a neonazi etc.
But sure yeah something about someone threatening you with violence, yup. Go off, queen.

 dunno what far right Australians are afraid of offhand. If you offer anything of actual substance instead of hiding behind imprecision I'm sure people will be happy to call you a moron in more direct ways.

The don't tread on me (snek) flag also makes more sense in Australia.

Not being baited by the projection, sorry. Have a wonderful, hopefully non-violent, day

Why would anyone care if an easily-triggered baby like Elon Musk called them dumb?

Thomas Mulcair analyzed it nicely in the embedded video in the article. Mulcair explains why Trudeau's comments were dumb. Trudeau is not dumb compared to an average person, however, compared to previous PMs Trudeau is the dumbest. He might be on Kim Campbell's level.
Musk and Trump firing away at Trudeau weaken an already weak leader. CBC very heavily favours Liberals.
The CBC had to make an entire article plus an embedded video out of an off handed tweet by Musk. That is some good trolling. Like I said though, he could've done better.

Your whole perspective was that Musk should label Trudeau as dumb, because that is supposed to offend Trudeau, so you're being hypocritical here. And if Musk or Trump is triggered by you, you know you're doing something right. And now you're walking it back by saying Trudeau isn't actually dumb anyway, so I don't know why you bothered with your original statement. Why not just wish that Musk would act like an adult, instead of wanting him to try to troll people?

Newsrooms have entire departments dedicated to "Famous Person posted X on their social media page", it's just chaff.

Spare a thought for the poor guys in those departments by the way, mayhaps when they were growing up they had dreams of becoming journalists or something

Pot. Kettle. Black.
Musk talks more errant bollocks, at a higher volume than almost any other notable public figure on social media. He’s one of the most insufferable cunts on the entire planet, although with the silver lining that he’s exposing his own intellectual gaps for all to see.
Although this thread has definitely drifted hugely away from its ostensible purpose, so yeah 100% agreed there

I find it hilarious that, in response to Elon Musk being called a dumb, easily-triggered baby, the defense is "labeling is disabling", a phrase which refers to the harmful practice of labeling children as "problem child" or "troublemaker". Virtually admitting that Elon Musk is being an infantile adult.

Agreed. If JJR had made the claim that being on Elon Musk's bad side can be problematic, because of how much money and influence Elon Musk has, then I'd agree. Musk is pretty powerful, especially with his control of Twitter and his friendship with Trump. But instead of saying something like "Musk disliking Trudeau could be an issue for Trudeau", JJR wants Musk to throw juvenile insults at world leaders. Musk will surely do that anyway, because he often acts childish, but that should be viewed as embarrassing behavior by Musk.

Some of us have a New Year's resolution to get started on.

Oh I know, I have a bunch of journalist friends, and it's depressing to hear them talk about their industry and their jobs.
