Games Done Quick is a series of charity video game marathons. These events feature high-level play by speedrunners raising money for charity. Games Done Quick has teamed up with several charities throughout its history, such as Doctors Without Borders and the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Millions of dollars have been raised and donated, thanks to the GDQ speedrunning marathons, and many prizes have been awarded to those who donate!
Awesome Games Done Quick is the annual marathon performed in the winter, while Summer Games Done Quick is the annual marathon performed in the summer. This year, SGDQ is from Sunday, July 4th to Sunday, July 11th. Here is the schedule of all the SGDQ'21 games that will have speedruns, along with the names of the runners, expected run times, the category/type of speedrun, and donation incentives (prizes you can win by donating during a specific speedrun, additional caveats you can create for the speedrunners, etc.): https://gamesdonequick.com/schedule

Edit: I’m pretty excited for the schedule of games! It ticks off a lot of my boxes (almost everything except for Ocarina of Time). Here’s my list of what I’m most looking forward to:
Sunday: Mega Man X, Spyro, Kirby Super Star
Monday: Pikmin 3, SSB Brawl, Super Mario Odyssey, Paper Mario
Wednesday: Mischief Makers, Earthworm Jim, Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Crash Bandicoot 4, LoZ: Majora’s Mask, Untitled Goose Game
Thursday: Pokemon Black/White
Friday: Super Mario Bros. 2, LoZ: Breath of the Wild, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Saturday: Mega Man X2, Rayman, Donkey Kong Country 3, Pokemon Emerald, Bowser’s Fury, Mario Kart 64, Super Metroid, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Bros. 3

Yea it should be a great run. GS is one of my favorite series of all time
I've caught the run a few times on Plexa's stream, but I never really get the chance to actually watch the entire thing. Think I'll try to catch it all this time around.
Definitely going to try to catch the factorio speedrun. Although, too bad they went for any% instead of default settings (obviously understandable why...).
If you end up watching a particularly enjoyable speedrun during this week's marathon, please share it with the rest of us so that we can make sure we check it out too!
Increased the total amount by over $500K in just the past few hours. Such an awesome rally. Almost $2.7M right now; wouldn't be surprised if we hit $3M.
