An Afghan national who served alongside U.S. troops in Afghanistan [1] [2] has allegedly shot two National Guard members, one of whom has died from her wounds [3]. Rahmanullah Lakanwal, the suspected shooter, was granted asylum in April 2025, under the Trump administration [2]. Sarah Beckstrom is the NG member who was shot and killed; Andrew Wolfe is the NG member who was shot and is still alive [4]. The two victims were shot while on active patrol in Washington D.C. on Wednesday [4]; unsurprisingly, there's now even more concern for Trump's fascist crusade to needlessly send the National Guard throughout the country just to threaten those who stand up to his unconstitutional actions [5].
Nice pragmatic moves by a guy with eyes on becoming a future President of the United States
"Drill Baby Drill", Donald Trump

i don't think he is a fascist. he is restoring law and order. when i was a kid we were always scared shitless of American law enforcement//cops etc. that needs to return.
I was never afraid of Canadian police and it was a big factor in my decisions to commit some pretty large scale crimes in Canada as a teenager. I knew the young offenders act made me untouchable. I prolly cranked out 1000 counterfeit DVD covers per weekend at my midnight shift printer job in 2005 and 2006. I didn't think twice. I knew the Canadian cops wouldn't do anything.
Personally I would rate this post about being terrified about the summary judgment handed out by the American police/national guard against DVD counterfeiters vs the Canadian police who probably just process you through the legal system as top 3 really weird Jimmy posts.
It doesn't beat honourary Guido, but when you dig into the "logic" behind the post there's an awful lot going on there. The National Guard being deployed is linked to DVD counterfeiting operations because of the fear of what the police will do if they catch you (in this case catching you printing at your job at a printer).
Idk, if you criticize the US government in the future, your bank accounts might stop working, your hair will turn white and you‘ll find yourself slurping mate and snorting coke in an Ecuadorian embassy.
Thats why Democrats cant ever get into power again.

"Rahmanullah Lakanwal, the suspected shooter, was granted asylum in April 2025, under the Trump administration" - this is very disingenuous. It clearly says that he arrived in 2021 under Biden administration under humanitarian parole. It also says he applied for asylum under Biden and only was granted it under Trump. I highly doubt Trump is sitting there granting asylums. I dare to guess that it is simply time when the administrative process ended.

This is just ridiculous.
Edit: typo
It's not disingenuous. The Trump Administration granted the alleged shooter asylum. If you want to say it's not Trump's personal fault, that's your prerogative, but don't blame this on Biden (or Obama or Hillary Clinton or Bill Clinton). By your own admission, the Biden Administration didn't grant the asylum but the Trump Administration did. I didn't say Trump personally said it was okay, but it's wild to blame a completely different ex-president who wasn't even president during the asylum grant nor during the actual violent attack. (Also, it is Trump's personal fault that the National Guard was deployed to D.C. for his own fascist crusade.)

I know you don't think that, and that's concerning.

He spits truth, our country is overrun with crime because of way to friendly police. This is why everyone knows Canada is way less safe than the US. You go from printing covers to gang violence in the blink of a eye. The US with there super tough mean cops and judicial system along with so many good guys with guns is free from all violence and crime. Our only saving grace is our top criminals emigrate south where they are named honorary guido's and run things down there.

Maybe the Canucks are slow eh? Or else extremely lax on the enforcement rules at all levels of society.
If memory serves Jimmy and his buddy also somehow hit the same, extremely niche store repeatedly (I’m gonna say like, somewhere that sold DnD and similar paraphernalia from memory), lifting shitloads of merchandise with the auld 5-fingered discount and nobody cottoned on to it.
Surely there must be a happy law and order medium between being shot by ICE and the complete impunity Canadians enjoy?

I see Trump is banging on about cutting asylum claims from ‘third world countries now’, I wonder what will come of this.
Not tightening processes or improving vetting mind, just ‘nah’

It's possible that the immigrant that is doing all the crime in the US at this point is Jimmy. He's skewing the numbers.

He arrived at the US from Afghanistan after Trump handed power in Afghanistan over to the Taliban. That's why he needed asylum, he was a collaborator with the US forces and Trump sold out people like him. It's Trump all the way down.

What are you so afraid that the Democrats will actually do that we’re not already seeing with this administration?

Out of curiosity, over or under the time he claimed to have stolen $50,000 of D&D merch from a canadian retail store?

Look there was just one security guard for the whole mall so it was totally believable. It wasn’t 50k though was it? :O
Also I mean if we’re talking the late 80s thru 90s it’s not like you had a DnD store on every second block. 50K worth of shrink for a niche hobby store and it’s shutting up shop with no substitutes around. So if this tale is true Jimmy just killed DnD for a whole generation :p

That's ultimately what he said, yeah. It supposedly ended up being roughly $50,000, after being adjusted for inflation ("$30,000 in Dungeons and Dragons hobby equipment over the course of 6 months ... in 2002 money").

The Bay at Sherway Gardens had weak security. When I was 15 , my crime buddy and i ripped the place off for $30,000 in Dungeons and Dragons hobby equipment over the course of 6 months. Lead figures, dice, those big hard cover Dungeon Master Guides etc. At one point I had $20,000 in "product" hidden in my bedroom. LOL. These $ figures are in 2002 money.
The key was to get there very early Saturday and Sunday morning when the staff were all showing up late. At store opening there'd be 2 security guys and 4 employees to cover a 225,000 square foot store. They were all half awake. Not us, we were 100% ready to rumble. Memories man!
You have to wonder how major malls in Canada are going to survive as they all continue to lose giant tenants. The mall I mentioned lost its 2 cornerstone tenants, both giant retailers that have been around for many decades.
Adjusting for inflation, that means you're claiming to have stolen nearly $50,000 worth of D&D gear, within the span of six months, as a 15-year-old who wasn't even old enough to drive yet ( https://www.in2013dollars.com/canada/inflation/2002?amount=30000 ).
