Because it would be illegal here in Germany. Incitement to do a crime.

They know they're not news, but they still call themselves Fox News. They know they're a bunch of elitists and White Supremacists, but they still pretend they're not, as they actively encourage harm against anyone outside their in-group, for any or no reason. It's happened before, it'll happen again.

From what i know, the courts are pretty careful with this to not impede upon freedom of speech. There is a careful check to see if there is any way to interpret what is being said in another way that is not an incitement to a crime.

While I think there's something very wrong with the american media universe, that jesse waters is a piece of shit, that fox news sucks, the way this is covered is also pretty garbagey. I had to spend a lot more effort finding the actual clip of Jesse Waters speaking than I had to spend finding Fauci responding to the statement, and there, the news report was only mentioning what was stated while not being willing to show the clip 'because it's disgusting and dangerous' - even though the actual clip from my perspective made it look quite a bit less 'dangerous', and it was much more explicitly stated that he was talking about confronting Fauci with a prepared sentence, not a gun. I don't think making the statement Jesse Waters did would be illegal in Norway either. This case is an indictment of 'both sides' of the american mediasphere imo. (To be clear, none of this should be taken as a defense of Jesse Waters or Fox.)

You know why people don’t trust you, don’t you?' - and filming this. He's saying, ambush Fauci with this statement and watch how he's not gonna be able to respond in a coherent manner, and this will 'kill' him. The "OMG Fox Hosts calling for someone to ambush Fauci, go for the kill shot, and film it." is intentional clickbait, for intentional outrage farming where the liberal reaction amplifies the reach and danger of something most Republicans probably didn't even know was ever said (coverage of his speaking/the words in question was almost non-existent prior to Fauci responding). Fauci, corporate media outlets, and the people spreading the clickbait headlines all played right into his desired response.

A Trumpian generation of outraged headlines was almost certainly the desired response. I guess Watters got that.

Even on moderately right wing radio and online his few blunders are always dredged up and “you can’t trust him”, is the common sentiment. And this is brought up every day. His biggest PR problem is his smugness and becoming part of the story. Get someone boring and dry as fuck.

At least he is white and male, can you imagine the vitriol if he were black or a woman? I don’t have a time machine but I would like to see someone else or as I said a team of boring scientists that don’t go on every 24/7 news channel they can. There’s no need for Fauci or whoever to go on Good Morning ABC/Fox/CNN anymore. Stick to boring reports and let the news anchors do the rest.

I would feel sorry for them if it wasn't such a permanent thing and they weren't so power hungry. Gender roles and insecurity. Conservatives don't only stifle their women's personalities, their men as well. Think about conservative men's approach to sitting with legs crossed. It of course doesn't apply to all of them, but at least most 40-70 year old conservative men will never be seen sitting with their legs crossed. There's all sorts of things conservative men are essentially not allowed to do.

I think you are only focusing on the people dragging him through the mud, and not the people in the middle or on the other end of the spectrum who actually listen to what he says and benefit. In those cases he offers value.

It's too bad they can't deal with that in a way that isn't forcing everyone else to live the same miserable way.

Stick to boring papers and reports read out by the anchors. If you have to cut back to a few people who only speak for a few minutes and don’t get chummy with the hosts. The setup we have isn’t good for 24/7 partisan / salacious news cycles. So remove him and change the system.
