But then you come into the realms of light where developed animals (specifically thinking birds and mammals) are much more aesthetic. These animals can see each other, so they can select partners for good looks. Does this mean there is some objective notion of beauty? Or do we just think mammals and birds and more aesthetic because we're developed as part of the light-dwelling kingdoms so our idea of beauty is in sync with theirs. I'll bite and answer seriously, though I would hope you expected what you got. Symmetry seems to be one thing that's as close to objective as I think you're going to get. Symmetry indicates proper development which indicates good genes & nutrition. Obviously animals in the dark can't see symmetry like we do, so that may actually be a reason they look uglier to us than land animals. I do think that our familiarity with the light dwelling world is probably the main contributor, though.
I didn't expect it, but it made me lol. They're typically symmetrical even in the deep waters, because it's functionally useful as well as aesthetic.

the company I work for got bought up by another company, so we're changing name and some organization and all that. do tests generally occur during these events?

For this scenario, I would have to assume yes, but that's because I'm paranoid. Then again, I don't know how regularly people are tested in Sweden/how much of a big deal it is in the job world.
Safe bet: explore the legal alternatives ;p nitrous oxide, dextromethorphan, salvia (depending on the area, law-wise,) or any drug that won't show up on a urinalysis (I assume this would be the method?)

Was it mentioned anywhere in your original contract that the company reserves the right to conduct random drug tests? Because if it wasn't then you have nothing to worry about until you sign a new contract. If it was then you may be in for a test, but it could happen at any point, or not at all. Hopefully this excerpt should help you avoid testing positive:
"Limitations of Drug Tests Because marijuana stays in the bloodstream for a short time, blood tests for marijuana are usually not used, except in the case of automobile accidents and some roadside sobriety check points. Blood or saliva tests can show current intoxication. However, unlike blood alcohol concentration tests, they do not indicate a level of intoxication or impairment.
On the other hand, urine tests for marijuana metabolites can only show recent marijuana use, not intoxication or impairment, because of the time required between smoking and the metabolites being eliminated in the urine. However, because many employers have a zero tolerance for drug use, most workplaces use urine tests for any recent use of drugs.
How Long Can Marijuana Be Detected? Some THC metabolites have an elimination half-life of 20 hours. However, some are stored in body fat and have a elimination half-life of 10 to 13 days. Most researchers agree that urine tests for marijuana can detect the presence of the drug in the body for up to 13 days."

Why do you guys do drugs? Don't mean to come across as condescending, but what do you gain from them? I've never done anything besides a little alcohol here and there, so obviously I don't get "it".
This is mainly for curiosity, not because i'm trying to get into drugs of any sort whether it's pot or crystal meth. Perhaps it's my genes or my upbringing, but i've never had ANY desire to get drunk or high. Maybe i'm just weird lol, but i don't understand the attraction to drugs.
Is it just to feel good? To get away from the problems in your life? Other things i can't think of? I'm genuinly interested and I hope i didn't come across in the wrong way.

In some cases it's like a trip to somewhere else, except you don't move. You see things you wouldn't see normally, or think things you wouldn't normally think. It satisfies both curiosity and the desire to have fun - because in some cases, random and weird things can be very fun.

Marijuana: forget about the miserable details of life, relax. LSD/Shrooms/other psychedelics: to gain a new perspective of life, one that cannot be imagined without the aid of a chemical. Stimulants: get shit done. Euphoria, lack of inhibition (makes it very fun to be around people/loved ones.) MDMA: An incredible amount of euphoria, mild hallucinogenic effects; just incredibly fun for any scenario. Opiates: Pain management, numbness and feel-good all around. Benzodiazapines: Social inhibition lowered; heightened ability to deal with stress, go-with-the-flow. Dissociatives: A look into the world/mind without the need for a body or ego; a floating ability to observe whilst being one with nothingness. Deliriants: Some people just like to watch horror films; some like 6 hours of horror within their own head.
Essentially, there are so many different types of drugs, and everyone uses their drug of choice for their own reason. Most of all, though, people who are "everyday" users just want the pain to go away.
It's pretty much just trading money/possibly health for the ability to do the impossible for a sober mind.

Pot is pretty easy to answer. To escape the everyday rat race, even just for a few hours.

Hey, I'm from Toronto and I'm visiting Boston. Talked to 2 cool dudes in suburbs and.. went through the mall, found a friend of his. I'm fucking human-blessed as opposed to ... anyways thanks, loving this city so far.
Got pretty elated. :D

Man I really need some good fresh weed to use with my new vape. It's awesome and all so far, but it could be so much more! I haven't actually had to buy weed in so long I don't even have any current hookups... Time to ask my 73 year old neighbour who smokes pot.
But before I go to bed tonight, I want to have a shower while really stoned. Showers stoned are AMAZING.
