Although this thread does not function under the same strict guidelines as the USPMT, it is still a general practice on TL to provide a source with an explanation on why it is relevant and what purpose it adds to the discussion. Failure to do so will result in a mod action. |
It would be kinda weird if the spd would do well this election and I don't think they will. The spd is less critical towards refuges and europe then the cdu. If those are the 2 isues that people are not happy with then why would the spd do well this election, I don't see how. afd and fdp will get the voters leaning towards the right and the voters leaning towards the left will go to the partys left of the spd.
People will start voting more extreme in general I think, this trend was already there and will most likely continue. The election of trump was a bit of a wakeup call for many people in Europe,a shock effect which might drive people back towards the traditional and moderate partys but so far trump is not messing up and I think quiet a few people in Europe now think "what the usa can do,we can do that as well. lets close those borders"
Its an Interesting year this year,i don't think the union will survive in its current form. The only way it could survive is with a massive win for the left in Germany, which would then allow for less austerity and more monetary stimulation to help the southern part of the zone. But that would go at a price for the northern part of the zone and I don't think Germany will vote for that in the upcoming election.

updates: - PSD+ALDE govt. refuses to repeal those ordinances; - from declarations, interviews, talk shows coming from PSD leaders/affiliates, it looks like they are setting this to be a "we(PSD) gave you(people) money(they approved a new salarization law with increases ranging from 12% to 65% for public functionaries) so you should turn a blind eye now", imo. (it comes from the fact that every time they get an uncomfortable question about the ordinance each and every one of them starts mentioning the hike in wages); - prime minister Grindeanu meet the US ambassador to Bucharest Hans Klemm (meeting requested by US ambassador); uncertain what came out of it, there were no statements and the meeting was somewhat secretly conducted. - the general prosecutor Augustin Lazar (Supreme Court of Cassation) states that today they (he and the people advocate) will attack the ordinances at Constitutional Court on grounds of them being unconstitutional(they're about 85% there; people advocate has not explicitly given consent/agreed to as of this morning). in romanian: + Show Spoiler +"In cursul zilei de astazi, procurorul general al Parchetului de pe langa Inalta Curte de Casatie si Justitie a transmis spre analiza Avocatului Poporului solicitarea de a sesiza Curtea Constitutionala, in temeiul dispozitiilor art. 146 lit. d teza finala din Constitutie si respectiv art. 13 alin. 1 lit. f din Legea nr. 35/1997 republicata, cu exceptia de neconstitutionalitate a Ordonantei de urgenta nr. 13/2017 pentru modificarea si completarea Legii nr. 286/2009 privind Codul penal, precum si a Legii nr. 135/2010 privind Codul de procedura penala", a anuntat Ministerul Public.
De asemenea, exista informatii ca Avocatul Poporului va sesiza vineri Curtea Constitutionala cu privire la ordonanta de urgenta de modificare a Codurilor Penale. ' - the DNA (the anti-corruption agency) started dossiers pending criminal charges for two prosecutors, freshly(16 january) delegated to the Justice Ministry, assumed to be the ones who wrote(or took part in) the elaboration of those ordinances; - protests last night gathered based on estimates, up to ~200.000 people throughout the country; - a romanian ex-president made tinfoily statements regarding the could-be-the-beginnings of the balcanization of Romania;
Edit: as i wrote that, the people advocate went to the Constitutional Court; it's on.

This is like the white nationalist Quebecois allegedly shouting Allah Akbar before shooting at the mosque. Lets face it, why not? If that's all it takes to confuse people, of course white nationalists are going to shout that in an attempt to "false flag" the crap out of it. Especially as people tend to believe the very first thing Fox News reports about the matter, so the harm is done the moment Fox News reports that he shouted Allah Akbar, regardless of whether it was a jihadi, a white nationalist, or some confused idiot who thought he was in the Amazon jungle and was hacking at trees.

Yeah, French alt-right has a history of attacking soldiers outside museums. Are you guys serious? You honestly sound like you hope it was an alt-righter...

However, his report is wrong. Michel Cadot is a police officer with the Paris prefecture, not the attacker.
|
I was replying to him, sorry if that was not clear.

Michel Cadot is Paris' police prefect lol, not the perpetrator.

Good thing the "terrorist" was a retard and attempted to go for 4 soldiers as his first victims. I imagine this could've gone a lot worse if he went after civilians someplace else.
Belgian newspapers report a second guy has been arrested for acting suspicious, not clear if it's related or not. Identity of suspect is a mystery atm.

lol. I had just woke up and scanned through the article.. my bad ;o. The attacker been identified yet? Sounds like a guy with mental illness. I mean if he was a terrorist I could think of better targets than heavily armed security forces. Especially when you are simply equipped with 2 machettes xd.

Guys you seriously need to watch this documentary:
We are being played once again. It is the same old divide and conquer.
Please watch it with an open mind. I know these sort of posts are condemned on TL but I find it an interesting topic to discuss.
TLDR: A documentary focused on backroom deals by the elites from WW1 untill today for anyone as desparate as I am to know what the hell is going on in the world for the last 20 years and seeking to make sense of it all. Dont take all the "facts" from it at face value but try to understand the 1% perspective.
Mod edit: edited out video, not allowed.

You might as well have a bot that posts "the perpetrator is said to have shouted Allah Aabkar" after every violent attack. And thinking about it there might actually be an army of bots out there that does exactly that.
The exact same was widely reported after the Munich spree shooting in July and it also was a complete fabrication.
|
How do you know it was a fabrication? Maybe he did shout "Allah Akbar" for fun? He was a counter strike player and in that game people often jokingly shout or type "Allah Akbar" whenever terrorists are about to win a round. This phrase became a meme long time ago.
If some crazy alt-right supporter decided to shoot up a mosque while shouting "Allah Akbar" I'd rather think he did it because he found it humorous than assume he wanted people to believe he's actually a muslim terrorist.
|
We must place a travel ban on all Counterstrike players from entering France. GET SMART FRANCE.
Btw SoSexy, whatever happened to your promise to never post again if it turned out the Munich shooter wasn't a muslim terrorist. Yet here you are again.
That said, this does bear the hallmarks of both a terrorist attack and that of a mentally disturbed person.
Meanwhile in UK, a Royal Marine commando is being charged with terrorism offence, hiding a massive stash of weapons and ammunition, including claymore mines and mortars.

Trump inspires! (it is really not about the law, but tweeting that photo is just great^^)

Though I support the goal itself, is "binding future governments" really a good thing? That's one hell of a slippery slope.
Remember the US's "obligated to pass law to defund any UN group recognizing Palestine?" Same issue.
|
Isn't it just an empty declaration? What stops those future governments from repealing this law?

The same thing that stopped Trump from cancelling the Australia refugee deal?
Sure, given enough political will everything can be overturned. They could also change their entire constitution and declare a frog the holy emperor of Sweden.and what else.
But putting up such laws sets the bar way higher to overturn them and most governments try to respect their predecessors. If every government would immediately overturn everything that was done before them, modern democracies would not work.
Also it was really more about the picture than about the law, as I said. I found it highly amusing.

Is it that they're all white in support of Trump's racist agenda?
I honestly didn't even notice or pay attention. They just look like fairly standard lawmakers to me.

Hint: most nations are not into the 'lets tweet a picture of how i look very serious and sign laws while a lot of other truely important people look over my shoulder and admire me' procedure
One could now point at who is attending or the law signed to bring some more contrast into the picture and notice the pun, but I think this would be wasted time as you either want to see it or choose to not to see it. Also explai ing jokes suck. (Insert joke about Germans here)
