Although this thread does not function under the same strict guidelines as the USPMT, it is still a general practice on TL to provide a source with an explanation on why it is relevant and what purpose it adds to the discussion. Failure to do so will result in a mod action. |

If you think the US is politically correct, you should have a look at germany (or TL for that matter) - where you're immediately labelled as an anti-semite if you criticize the israeli government. You're labelled as racist, islamophobe etc if you speak up against Merkels "idea" - even if statistics agree with you. Also, there's just two ways, when ever you discuss with someone like r00ty (and others here): either you have status quo, or you erect minefields and kill refugees. Which is an actual statement someone made in this thread. It's ridiculous, and shows the utter inability to actually have a debate. Refugee in take is almost always rationalized by having young healthy workers to help the economy. I am on mobile but go to the ceo porion of link. Merkel also repeatedly says these refugees will be good for the country economically (so be quiet as I take in another million this year). Two thirds of refugees can't sufficiently read/write or do math. 70% of afghans, syrians and iraqis quit their apprenticeships, because they can't follow the theoretical part of an apprenticeship. The only ones having a chance in germanies labor market are the 3-10 year olds that come with their families. (http://www.zeit.de/2015/47/integration-fluechtlinge-schule-bildung-herausforderung) To be fair, it's become much more socially acceptable, even in liberal circles, even in German liberal circles, even on TL, to criticise Israel's policies and politics. Weirdly, now it's Republicans and only the far right Israeli clergy / politicians who play the antisemitism card every time someone criticises their disgusting treatment of Palestinians.
Not the last time i argued here with people about that. It was pretty much a clusterfuck of accusations, forcing me to literally (not exaggerating, actually literally) put in every posting that i don't have a problem with Israel or jews, but knesset and Netanyahu.
Found the piece of Djzapz btw. Because relevant.

As there's NO rise in crime for specific demographic groups. That's btw a flat out lie. It's just people like you being too dense to understand that "no rise overall" doesn't mean anything apart from you purposely and most likely knowingly misrepresenting actual facts. Wanna explain how "no overall rise in crime" and "mugging/pick pocketing etc tripled" fits together? How "Auslaenderkriminalitaet" rose by almost 100% from 2014 to 2015 - and why that trend, according to you, suddenly stopped? If you can't be arsed to actually look at statistics (and btw, that "tripled" is an actual fact, i linked it a couple of pages back, unlike you posting the personal opinion of someone, which is btw extremely obnoxiously written and full of misinformation, like he's talking about 150 offenses on NYE - and he wrote it on the 12th, where it was long clear that it's not 150), please stop trying to spread that stupid propaganda. edit: but while we're at the point that we're citing personal opinions as fact.. http://www.n24.de/n24/Nachrichten/Panorama/d/7926410/-ich-halte-es-dort-nicht-mehr-aus-.html (german, sorry, can't really find english links regarding stuff like that) Enjoy the read. Quite enlightening.
You found something, grats. I was citing actual numbers though, even more than realistic, wasn't I? You jump on 150 while i was clearly talking about actual numbers (750)? The point you criticized, i was really relying on the article because of crime-statistics, though actual numbers are hard to find. My Mistake. Because they are not existent yet. I put my trust in that (federal judge) and you rightfully criticize personal opinion, but isn't the press "lying" anyway? I stand by my point, that this event is blown out of proportion. 30 additional assailants on new years eve are a joke for a country like ours. How has your life changed so far? 20-30 people charged with harassment/theft. That's like a typical Oktoberfest mid-week-morning. Just without the hassle, because it's Germans and tourists.
I'm well aware of Problems in immigration homes. You can jump on it though. To me that's just rational human behavior unfortunately. Have you ever been "foreign"?

are you trying to tell us that 30 assailants attacked more than 1000 women in cologne alone, not even mentioning the half a dozen other cities where the same happend?

PARIS (AP) — French President Francois Hollande pledged Monday to redefine France's business model and declared what he called "a state of economic and social emergency," unveiling a 2-billion-euro ($2.2 billion) plan to revive hiring and catch up with a fast-moving world economy.
The measures he proposed, however, are relatively modest, and he said they would not "put into question" the 35-hour workweek. With his country under a state of emergency since extremist attacks in November, Hollande did not seek to assume any new emergency powers over the economy.
In an annual speech to business leaders, Hollande laid out plans for training half a million jobless workers, greater use of apprenticeships, and aid for companies that hire young workers.
Hollande's Socialist government has struggled to boost long-stagnant French growth or reduce chronic unemployment, which has been around 10 percent for years. His chances of winning a potential second term may hinge on whether jobs pick up before next year's presidential vote.
Hollande stressed the urgency of updating France's labor-friendly business model in an increasingly border-free, online economy. The measures included a loosening of France's rigid working time rules, and a bonus of 2,000 euros to small businesses that hire young people.
He stressed the need to integrate youth from France's troubled suburbs, including minorities who face job discrimination, into the global economy. High unemployment in France's North African and African communities is seen as one of the factors driving some youths to violent extremism or the drug trade.

He hope that people, in their retardness, will not understand that with 500 000 people getting from unemployment to formation, the unemployment will drop by 500 000 - statistically. Yes, it is breitbart. Still, i want to know your opinion on this.
The article is spot on in the fact that nowadays a few tech companies have a really huge amout of personal information, more that any secret police could gather in the facist time.
The fact that Merkel already negotiated with facebook, and facebook's COO already anounced combat against free speech. It is really scary.
I don't know about you guys, but here we had the PIDE, a political secret police, and i don't want anything like that back.
People should be educated about the control facebook has on their lives.

Hatespeech isn't protected in Europe and has nothing to with the Stasi or whatever, the censorship on Facebook has actually nothing to do with Facebook at all, the same thing applies to any form of public speech in Germany. Free speech does not extend to threats, insults, incitement of hatred and so on. I know that some people have grown up on 4chan and think that the internet is some kind of lawless place but that isn't and never has been the case. Also people should probably stop conjuring up Orwell to defend their brainless racist nonsense because he'd probably turn around in his grave.
Why are you on Breitbart in the first place

Considering the sensitive state of Germany with regards to refugee intake, it's best if people aren't inflamed by racist and xenophobic propaganda. It will only lead to violence and chaos, which is what the racists and xenophobes want.
Facebook Inc (FB.O) began a Europe-wide campaign on Monday to thwart extremist posts on social media, after German politicians in particular raised concerns about a rise in xenophobic comments linked to an influx of refugees.
The U.S.-based group launched its "Initiative for Civil Courage Online" in Berlin, pledging over 1 million euros ($1.09 million) to support non-governmental organizations in their efforts to counter racist and xenophobic posts.
Facebook's ground rules forbid bullying, harassment and threatening language, but critics say it does not enforce them properly.
On Friday, the firm said it had hired a unit of the publisher Bertelsmann to monitor and delete racist posts on its platform in Germany.

Broadest thing ever.
I guess the difference is that facism left Germany long ago, while here it only left on 74. Still hear the stories in my village from my father and grandfather, same with any old man. Every little thing can be and will be used, and things and even be forged.
The numbers of users facebook has, the the kinda of information that they have is simply scary, too scary. Twitter with its new features can also hide the posts that go against narrative.
You don't even have to forcefully censor, or use secret police. Just not having opposing narratives near the top of the feed is enough to lessen the number of views, swaying a bit the popular opinion. With your views considered "normal" it becomes easier to demonize opposition, special if the opposition content barely reaches the population.
Information streams are really important, and right now, these private companies have the control and they are clearly messing around with politics.
|
The very limited amount of censorship that is being used here does not exist to hide "opposing narratives", it is used to uproot racism, threats made against specific groups and so on. 'Incitement of hatred' or Volksverhetzung is not 'broad' or arbitrary it has a long legal tradition in Germany and many other European countries as well.
