It's nothing new, but it "has" gotten worse. And because naruto has inherited the throne of the #1 japanese boys' anime, it probably has it the worst. | ||

Gundam Seed (lots of people like it too) mmm I guess Crest of the Stars (great storytelling/setting/background/story), or Kimi ga nozomu eien (worse then I thought, but still quite nice cos of its reality (if you can call it that))... | ||

Hmm my classical all time favorite animes 1. RUROUNI KENSHIN!!!! Oh god i love this so much 2. Pokemon i used to cry watching the movies and wake up early in the morning to watch it 3. Gundam Wing i used to stay up late at to see it on cartoon network at midnight toonami i guess you can add sailor moon, digimon, dragonball z if you want haha Ones i really like Elfen Lied,Evangelion, naruto manga is good, deathnote manga fun too, final fantasy advent children was cool Lots more but forgot The few episodes i watched of Bebop was cool and grave of the fireflies made me feel so sad. | ||

I watched it when i was like 13 and every episode i watched and summaries synopis i read made me even more confused. If you guys are talking about how good the anime looked Appleseed looked mad nice. Like they used computer and than like added sketch lines so it looks drawn or something. The landscape in that movie was awesome just the story was not original. Ghost in the shell looked cool too. Has anyone seen Kite. Its hentai but its actually well made imo. Sad too. | ||

Then of course Golden Boy and GTO - also kinda in the same boat, both have this great feeling of... extraordinary ordinary life. Great, great stuff out there to watch, I kinda feel envious towards people who haven't watched much anime yet - there's SO many great pieces yet for them to discover, hummm... -Mynock yes indeed, Ninja scroll is old, but im not taking that in consideration, for the time it was great animation same as Vampire Hunter D but they freaking suck why? -The constant retarded pseu-hentai inuendos that has nothing to do with the plot at all, like the rock guy trying to rape the girl in NS, or that busty girl in Vampire Hunter -The simplistic good vs evil plots and cliché situations, good guy trying to save the kidnapped girl from the bad boys, repetitive guy facing enemies tougher and tougher till they meet the final boss zomg, sotty but only 10yo kids enjoy simplistic plots. - absolutely zero character development, there are no motives, backgrounds, explanations, just a guy who decided to be evil cuz the hell of it, always a girl in distress with no personality at all, just weak bitch that falls in love with the hero. - stupid childish animation for no reason, like an enemy that looks like a spider and has 4 arms... what in the fuck its a ninja fight why is there some fucking spider mutant that spits acid in there? The thing is, these animes were pioneers in their time, but they were for KIDS, kids dont want to see a fight between two "ambiguos" caracters no good or evil, and one gets slained and his family starves to death rofl... they want to see hero fights spider mutant ninja!!!. And yeah as i said i love HellSing because ive always adored the whole Vlad Tepe (cond drakul) story, the plot isnt that good but it doesnt suck, plus the initial animation is definitelly top notch, they used shining reflection like no other anime ever has, too bad they changed animators and the quality went downhill veeery fast. Berserk's animation is average, however its plot is definitelly the best and more complex, the anime was too short and they left out very important parts, its definitelly an adult anime, Miura took care of developing each caracter with a lot of deatil there isnt A SINGLE character in the anime you cant describe, griphith, gatz, pippin, judeau... for fucks sake those were like 3rd lvl characters that barely appeared yet they were perfectly defined. There arent any good/evil things going on Berserk, Griphith is a very egocentric character that doesnt care about others and only cares about his goal... Gatz is a violent killing machine who loves death, so no simple monodimentional characters. Also there isnt silly non-explained stuff, Gatz doesnt carry a huge sword to be the cool guy (as its very commonly done), its perfectly explained, Gatz was found barely alive inside his dead hanged mother, obviously he was hated because of that so he were raised by a local thief who trained him with a normal sword when he was a child, and killed his dad and the guy who were fucking him (his dad sold him to prostitution)with a full wrong man sword. Anyway that was a huge post, and berserk is way way way ahead of any other anime series. PS: i agree golden boy is great, and hillarious. | ||

But Great Teacher Onizuka is my fackin favorite. UNTOUCHABLE in greatness. It's funny. It's mildly good manneredly-perverted. It's also got character. Then Slam Dunk is pretty good.
