Feel the same. And especially when there are 3 or 4 racers.

It's really awkward cause the guy who falls behind suddenly gets zero attention because everything is explained for/with/by the guy who is ahead.

I agree completely, for the same reason. The only thing to do is have different route runs, like they sometimes had in Megaman. But once one guy gets a little ahead...and he's also the one that gets to pull off the hard tricks first, so he gets much more enthusiastic applause than the second guy, even if the second guy pulls it off.

I mean, it's a race there's not much you can do about it other than - like you said - have different routes, but even then one is obviously going to be more optimized/faster than the other.

There's some races that are better than more, like Monkey Ball is a great race game that was close until the end. The only way to have a race where someone doesn't get an advantage and keeps it, is a RNG based game...which is lame!

It's not only on RNG based games. Perfect execution is far harder in some games than it is in others, like Castlevania was really back and forth and it had little to do with RNG, it's mostly about the movement in each screen. Then you have games like SMW where both runners get virtually the same time on every level and one mistake early on can make the race kinda boring.

Hey, whatever brings in the $$, I support. Still makes me a little sad, though, to see these guys who are literally top 5 in this game, ending up being in "last place", and not being given much attention.

yeah, I agree that the runs like SMW were kinda lame, but the runners choose that they wanted to race, not the event. So they wanted to do it!

Also yeah I agree being last place when you're one of the best as the game sucks not a whole lot you can do about it though. The DK64 race was good about keeping focus on both players, I think it kind of depends on the runners/couch crew to keep them all in the spotlight!

It's interesting for sure, lots of terrain glitching!

The whole run is does as a naked orc too, I liek to imagine what goes through people's heads when they see a fucking naked ass orc running around with a sword shouting about dragons

Also BUCKET JUMPS

The problem with ME races is that there is no real run killer, its more death by a thousand cuts. So if you go on tilt, you just fail at everything and look terrible.

Also there are only about 3 PC single segment runners who are really good, Zubmit, Floubz and Ovendonkey. ddaanniieell has only been playing for a few months, so he really doesn't have the experience of the others.

I think it's mostly about the game. DK64 has so much weird stuff you ussually have something to talk about on the second try, while in others games it's just "and here comes a trick where he does this. He got it, clap, clap."

And yeah, the biggest issue with runs is having two or more even runners, and that's not easy, so it's not like you can be too picky about the game. Like I'm sure Fzero GX could be an awesome game for racing, with all the risky strats and hard optimizations, but you would have to make CGN wait 30s in each race to make the race fair. I personally think even "bad" games for races are fine, they are not often worse than a single person running it and they still have the chance of being good races.

Skyrim has a ridiculous amount of glitches. The first half of the run is hype, but it'll be up to the couch to make dragonrend cutscene and council not totally kill all the hype D:
