But Svidler is hands down my favorite commentator, and it's going to be good once he comes in.

As with every championship it becomes more interesting with each game played. I'm stoked to see how today's game plays out. With the first really sweaty game played it's now Karjakin's turn with as white - and I can't help to wonder if Carlsen isn't just a bit frustrated. I was pretty close to winning this game.

It was a very well played game by both players (I only followed the first 5 hours) - in the end it seemed Karjakin held Carlsen on the touchline. edit: My Stockfish is flat on -1.87 even at 60ply. There's no progress to make here unless Karjakin screws up.

Although, if every game is like this, it's only a matter of time. Team Karjakin better find some way to pressure Magnus.

Chess isn't a game where you'll be able ot convert every advantage (see that last game for instance) but you definitely want to be the one with opportunities. There's no way Carlsen's feeling good about the last two games. Yes you're objectively in a good spot if you're always the one attacking, but letting those wins slip away is nevertheless disappointing. At the press conferences he didn't seem satisfied at all with his play in those games. He's a pro and will take setbacks like this with equanimity, but he won't feel good about it.
