3200 computers playing each other seems a lot less interesting than the Olympiad IMO. USA-Russia matchup is tomorrow. USA hasn't lost a game but Nepo is 7-0 so should be interesting.

well it has pros and cons, it is around the clock, it has a great gui to follow the games, it shows the pv of the engines so you can follow their "thought process" a bit (which you cant with humans) and the game quality is in general much higher than from those puny humans

I'll be honest, the big difference for me is that human events are commentated I'm too bad to understand the intricacies between 2800 level and 3200 level games, let alone 2200 and 2800 level games. At least commentators can bridge the gap of the latter!

Thanks for the reminder. Been waiting for this forever, just to see what Carlsen is really capable of in bullet. Expecting it to either go down to the wire or for Naka to just take over when the time control gets too fast.

interesting opening so far, Karjakin spending a lot of time thinking, caught off guard and off prep already after 6 moves. Magnus had recently mentioned about the devalutation of the value of a bishop vs knight, we might se some in this match where he gives his one bishop already this early.

Very dull and technical ending by move 20. Magnus is going to grind this for ages though. I guess this is his overall match plan... smart not exciting.

A possible explanation why Carlsen chose the Trompowsky:
"His father was interviewed about it and he was fairly sure Magnus played it as a practical joke with the close resemblance to "Trump"."
It's hilarious, even if it's not true.

Is there an official livestream that shows the players, like in the last World Championship?

Wow, I can't believe there's no free video coverage this year. What a joke.

There you go, official stream only use it if you've paid your fee of course ; )

I'd say Carlsen will win on +2, but I think Karjakin will put up a solid fight.

c24's coverage is going to get better as the tournament progresses; Svidler joins for Game 3 and then Jan+Svidler from Game 7 onwards.

I've liked van Kampen + Hansen so far but Jan is very funny so maybe he has an entertainment edge. Any c24 combo is >>> than idiot + Polgar though. The questions they have been asking are very bland. Agon needs to crawl under a rock and die asap.
