Yup, I've never heard homophobic coments from SC2 community. LGBT members especially never get abuse in every single thread.
Can't imagine why there aren't more, especially from the Korean side of things.

It's not the beginning of a pro-gay-TL. Because TL has been pro-gay since it's conception. It is absolutely going to stay pro-gay though, and this is out way of vocalizing this. The reason why gay pride is the first social issue that made us funk up our banner, is that gay pride is the single social issue with the least amount of internal disagreement. Gays not being treated equally, everywhere, isn't really an anachronism, because there's no historical period where this inequality feels "correct", but it is still one of the most important issues of our time and age, and the internet is crucial for the enlightenment of people through the world. The basis of treating everyone equally to me is to... just treat them equally. The need to go out and tell the world how much you're supporting everyone equally is on a much, much lower level than TL just doing it over all those years. We have enough of people proclaiming their politically correct views posting flags and colors on Facebook and Twitter. Being pro-anything means that you kick the very thing that should be the basis for equality in the balls. Equally. PS: Maybe I'm wrong here, but I never perceived TL to be "pro-gay". For me TL is anti-discriminatory. Anti-stupid. Without paying attention to the color of one's skin or one's sexual orientation - which is what makes this place great. In the event where someone are discriminated against in many ways, some positive discrimination is the only way to achieve equality. besides, we have a plain, straight-maned horse in our banner 51 out of 52 weeks through the year. I'm proud of TL just straight up banning people for sexist, racist or anti-gay remarks. That's how you fight for equal rights. I would be just as sad about this if it would be TL officially supporting a black-pride/jewish-pride/takewhateveryouwant-pride month. We're better than doing what dozens of people who show "support" by posting an image or yelling a couple of phrases are doing. We're not missing flags and "signs of supports", we're missing action. People stepping in when someone gets mocked on the streets and in schools. Not people who look away and afterwards call it a tragedy because that's the "correct thing to do". To me TL used to be a frontier of actions over words for all this time. I want to see a blog with pics of R1CH and Mora partying somewhere and having fun. I want to read a story of Rekrul punching someone in the face because he insulted his best gay buddy. And then I want to post a big huge LOL WELL DONE under those blogs because those are things to be happy for and proud about. ...just not a flag with the intent of "proclaiming our support". =/
look at this very thread. It started as a consequence of our banner. This thread expresses more support of gay rights than any other not-strictly-pro-gay-thread I've ever seen on the internet. And one of the best ways to spread the validity of an opinion, is to have many people express that opinion.
Basically, our effort was very small, (not to diminish hawaiianpig's great artwork!), and so far the outcome, at least from my perspective, has been great. I'm very happy.

You might want to visit the 10 commandments thread - you know, the thread you SHOULD have read before you started posting. However much you want to portray it as such, banning/warning is not an attack on your freedom of speech. TL has no obligation to be a platform for anyone to spew their stupidity on - it is their house, we are all here as guests and nothing more.

Stop shoving your political agenda in peoples faces. how is changing the website's logo "shoving their political agenda in your face?" go crawl back into whatever hole you came out from. Well, putting the gay pride colours at the most viewed place pretty much is shoving it in our faces. And nice personal attack there. what's wrong with a rainbow? the fact that the colors are used by an organization to promote EQUALITY shouldn't mean anything. that's like saying using red white and blue in any instance is calling attention to america, they're colors, get over it. It's very obvious what the colours mean in this context. And like I said, this site is about eSports, not about pushing the political agenda of some people. Discrimination is bad, I accept gays, they should have the same rights etc. but still think that it's disgusting. Especially if they feel the need to always express how different they are etc and the funny thing is most of the "normal gays" agree with that. Ok then let's ban gay parades. While we're at it let's also ban military parades, i hate how they show off. Also carnival...disgusting, everyone getting drunk and wearing stupid outfits. And nerds! OMG those stupid nerds, always talking about computers and video games and shit. BAN THEM ALL I SAY. Everyone should shut up and stay at home. I'm not talking about banning anything, but there are places where it's ok and such where it's not. This site has always been about esport, esport news etc. Having some admin abusing this site to shove his political views in other peoples faces is just wrong and an insult to anyone who has supported this site in the past. Hate to break it to you but teamliquid as a website, as an institution and as a brand has always been strongly in favour of equal rights for homosexuals. This logo is no more pro gay than the normal one. But fighting for equality with a banner that offends some people doesn't seem right though. Even if you think they are wrong, and are the ones discriminating others. I strongly suggest that if they're offended then they either get over it or make their own website.

Stop saying it's a political view when from our end it isn't. We're speaking out about basic human rights. What about my view? What about the principal falsity of gays? You are not supposed to put your P into a B. Haha ok that last sentence just made me laugh so hard. This is 100% a troll, no one else (over the age of 10) would ever write "you are not supposed to put your p into a b" Well played good sir, well played! Try taking people serious, even though they sound silly!
I got an idea. Instead of all these posts that you have made in this thread. Take your own advice and keep your political views to yourself. Since you believe gays should just act "normal" in society, how about you do the same and act "normal" here on TL and don't post about something that really doesn't affect you in any real way. Try not pushing your views on everyone else. It's not like TL went and changed the entire site to support LGBTQ, all they did was change some colours on a logo.

What would, seeing this thread and how it is working out, happen to a gay progamer? I guess within no time he would have 50+ posts in his own fanclub posting some stuff which has nothing to do with his / her career. Heck, even all the stuff going on in Acer.Scarlett´s threads is unbelieveable at some days.
Dont ridicule yourself by claiming all people in the SC2 community would treat homosexuals fairly.

It's all about a principle of perspective, you might object to consensual actions between two adults who are responsible for their own actions; and I might object to the hypocrisy that religious people who swore absolute truthfulness and devotion before their God when they get married only to get divorced a few years down the line due to domestic abuse, then using the same said god to dictate the actions of others.

To be fair, the people crying out against the banner are a (VERY) vocal minority.
But as Drone said above, the best way to spread a message is to get people talking about it. Mission accomplished.
