Stop saying it's a political view when from our end it isn't. We're speaking out about basic human rights. What about my view? What about the principal falsity of gays? You are not supposed to put your P into a B.

Hate to break it to you but teamliquid as a website, as an institution and as a brand has always been strongly in favour of equal rights for homosexuals. This logo is no more pro gay than the normal one. But fighting for equality with a banner that offends some people doesn't seem right though. Even if you think they are wrong, and are the ones discriminating others.

It's not the beginning of a pro-gay-TL. Because TL has been pro-gay since it's conception. It is absolutely going to stay pro-gay though, and this is out way of vocalizing this. The reason why gay pride is the first social issue that made us funk up our banner, is that gay pride is the single social issue with the least amount of internal disagreement. Gays not being treated equally, everywhere, isn't really an anachronism, because there's no historical period where this inequality feels "correct", but it is still one of the most important issues of our time and age, and the internet is crucial for the enlightenment of people through the world. The basis of treating everyone equally to me is to... just treat them equally. The need to go out and tell the world how much you're supporting everyone equally is on a much, much lower level than TL just doing it over all those years. We have enough of people proclaiming their politically correct views posting flags and colors on Facebook and Twitter. Being pro-anything means that you kick the very thing that should be the basis for equality in the balls. Equally. PS: Maybe I'm wrong here, but I never perceived TL to be "pro-gay". For me TL is anti-discriminatory. Anti-stupid. Without paying attention to the color of one's skin or one's sexual orientation - which is what makes this place great. In the event where someone are discriminated against in many ways, some positive discrimination is the only way to achieve equality. besides, we have a plain, straight-maned horse in our banner 51 out of 52 weeks through the year. I'm proud of TL just straight up banning people for sexist, racist or anti-gay remarks. That's how you fight for equal rights. I would be just as sad about this if it would be TL officially supporting a black-pride/jewish-pride/takewhateveryouwant-pride month. We're better than doing what dozens of people who show "support" by posting an image or yelling a couple of phrases are doing. We're not missing flags and "signs of supports", we're missing action. People stepping in when someone gets mocked on the streets and in schools. Not people who look away and afterwards call it a tragedy because that's the "correct thing to do". To me TL used to be a frontier of actions over words for all this time. I want to see a blog with pics of R1CH and Mora partying somewhere and having fun. I want to read a story of Rekrul punching someone in the face because he insulted his best gay buddy. And then I want to post a big huge LOL WELL DONE under those blogs because those are things to be happy for and proud about. ...just not a flag with the intent of "proclaiming our support". =/
Haha yeah, because banning and or physically assaulting everyone who says something you don't like sure is the way to go.
If this site is so pro freedom you also have to accept people saying things you don't agree with.

For anyone saying this is unnecessary, just take a look at how many people are getting upset over 'TL pushing a political agenda'. So much ignorance.
Good move by TL.

You can and everyone who disagrees can tell you exactly what they think of your opinion and then decided if they want to listen to you any more. What did you expect, that you could say whatever you wanted and we would just be forced to listen and accept it?

Scarlett gets verbally abused and harassed for being a transwoman, and if we had gay starcraft players who were open about it, you can bet that they'd be harassed aswell. The fact that teamliquid can't even change their banner for a week without bigots emerging from the woodwork to decry it shows how much work is yet to be done with respect to LGBTQ rights.
