all we know is that its living above the ground (like a kuala) actually, it probably doesnt eat grass. You sure they can bend down to eat grass?

"It's too high to eat grass," eh. a dopehead?
...yes, I had to.

The cow, I suppose, is too high off the ground to eat grass - yet it needs to be fed -- there lies the problem. Hand feeding it can only be sustained for a short period of time (your arm gets tired, whatever) -- so you need to seek an alternative route to feeding it.
I know the world is full of weird shit and metaphors, but a cow that CAN NOT EAT GRASS BY BENDING ITS HEAD DOWN is...just...you know, forget it. He probably meant a shark. Dunno.

It sounds like a horse or something that is too high off of the ground to reach down to eat the grass, and it needs to be fed, but letting it eat out of your palm every time it needs food isn't really applicable or feasible.

Also, beware bending over in close proximity to the dirty old man.
i hate when somebody answers the poster early on in the thread and people continue to throw out their ideas. this isn't an allegory to the secret of life, he's just a perverted old man, like that one from family guy.

My first thought was to think around the whole eating grass reference, and focus on the direct wording. It's something high, something that has to be fed, and something that you use your hand only for a certain amount of time to do such.
Only thing I can come up with is a kite. It's too high to eat grass, whether it can eat grass or not. You feed the string out by hand to make it fly higher, but you run out of string sooner or later.
Dunno. Best I can think of. XP
Edit: A barn silo kinda works as well. It's quite tall, and you store silage/grain in it, which would fill the feeding reference. Also, it's usually filled by machinery, as if you tried to do it by hand (ignoring time spans) you'd have it spill out or eventually fill it to a point where you can't put anymore in without being higher off the ground.
For fun: "In Australia, many country towns in grain-growing areas have concrete tower silos to collect grain from the surrounding towns and store it ready for transport by train or road to an export port."
'Kay, I'm gonna stop thinking too much about something stupid now.

Hm....im thinking a baby bird in its nest or something. "Too high to eat grass but it needs to be fed, hand feeding only works for a short period of time." The only part that doesnt go with it is "eat grass" birds dont eat grass...hmmmm.

it drives me crazy also. Plz tell me, i don't think any of the answers here are a good enough match to be the answer. The first thing i thought about before reading was a giraffe, but that isn't it. The explanation for barn silo is too intellectual, and this makes it too far-fetched.
ps i don't really think it's a kind of animal, i don't think it's that literal. An airplane has crossed my mind, but feeding by hand?
edit: can't it be something like confidence or self-esteem?

Usually, when I return my kids to their mother, she insists I stay awhile (for no other reason than to update me on her financial woes). But, this time, she quickly picked up the little one and said "Say goodbye to dad". Such curious behaviour, I thought. When I told my neighbour what happened, he replied: "Well, you know, it's gotta be fed, and it's too high to eat grass."
