Cool some girl can just walk to the police and say she was raped.
And then she doesnt even need to prove it.
Awsome.
Maybe I do want cameras watching me everywhere I go.

Rape: Having sex with someone through force, threat or without the persons knowlage.

People seem to more focus on the bad legal systems than the actual definitions. Sure, a girl can have sex with someone and then lie about it, but then again a guy can just as easily lie about that she was all on board with the rough sex and that have gotten people off as well. The fact that people can trick the legal system should have no bearing on the actual definition so I don't see why every other person seem to bring this up.

I think you have to distinguish between obvious/implied threat

1. There has to be a obvious threat by the rapist by verbally threatening her or threathening with a weapon.
2. If thats not the case and the threat is only implied the raped person has to voice her denial at that very situation when it's happening, not after it has happened. Only because she feels like being forced, it doesnt mean that she is actually forced to do it. Its her duty to voice her denial. Even if she fears of being hit, then she should rather take the hit then being raped. I feel like the law punishes rape harder than being hit and i dont know whats worse. but if there's a chance that she could prevent rape but is scared for some implied reason of being hit, then she has to take the risk because theres a possibility that there was no threat intended in the first place.
3. If shes obviously unable to voice denial like sleeping or passed out because she drank too much, then you risk rape by having sex with her. If shes still conscious this doesnt apply even if shes doing things she wouldnt do if she wasnt drunk.

thats how i feel about it.

Forced vaginal intercourse or a comparable sexual act, which is carried out by assault or threat of violence.

Have fun in prison dude.

I know you are not being serious, but I am pretty damn sure the book of law would find a way to convict you anyway. And if you get off free, then society will do its work.

I've always thought the special case about Assange is that that girl was completly okay with the sex and then retracted herself after the act was done ? Not to mention the judge first removed the rape offense and add it again just because it is Assange and the man must burn.

Being phyiscally forced was obviously a rape in the eyes of nearly everyone, but if a women gets naked, climbs into your bed, and then suddenly says she doesn't want to have sex, is it still a rape? Of course it is (imo anyway), but the majority of people seem to disagree on that notion.

We could make a good analog out of this. If i BBQ a boar in africa, and i promis this obviously starved individual some of it, and then deny it when it's finally done, most people would say that it's my own fault if he just steals it.
Same thing goes for sex. It's a deep drive in men, it's way stronger than any drug. How can it be his fault, if the woman does some shit like that then?

if a women gets naked and climbs into your bed and says "i dont want to have sex" thats your problem and you cant force yourself on her. IF you do you have some serious serlf control issues.
getting horny is a deep drive in men, but not that deep and certainly not stronger than any drug. I have had so much alcohol in me that i black out and remember nothing.. i have never been so horny that i cant help going after a girl, even a naked one.. in my bed. she said she was to tired and didnt want to.. i was abit dissapointed cause i was good to go, but that is life..

any man that says he can't control his urges is fucking weak and deserves to be put into a cell with another man that can't control himself either

The sad thing is that I know some guys in real life that actually believe that statement and would probably call you a whiny feminazi. It is really tragic blaming the victim is more common than it is suppose to be.

Thanks for posting this, some of the posts in this thread were pretty upsetting, it's best if I ignored them.

Rape can be many things, it's really hard to define. Also I think the poster about Canada's laws, I like their definition, also i wouldn't practice "sleep" sex where you wake your partner up with it with a new partner, or someone you haven't been with for very long, that doesn't seem smart, so i don't mind that law at all.

Also there are cities in the United States where rape is widely dismissed or discarded by the police, I believe New Orleans and Baltimore(and Philedelphia a long time ago) have in the recent past dismissed over 50% of sexual assault allegations as unfounded. (in 2010 Baltimore was classifying rape cases as unfounded at 5 times the national rate of unfounded cases.)

Men and Women can be raped, it happens every day, too both sexes. It's hard too see so many people blaming the victims, or being worried about people accusing them off rape in this thread. If you act like a decent human being, and practice sex with people you trust, that have given you actual consent, you have nothing too worry about. People go their whole lives having sex with all sorts of partners without ending up in jail, because they made sure both parties were consenting with everything before they got in bed.

Have there been false rape accusations? Of course! But it doesn't happen nearly as much as some people on TL seem to think it does for some reason based on posts in this thread and other threads.

Whoever thinks that you can't control your sexual drive, just cause it's an animal instinct inside of us, please see a doctor. I think you have magical vagina magnets in your penis that want you to procreate and I'm worried for you.

The majority people actually believe that.

The poll, using various examples (of which a girl willingly going into your bed naked, then changing her mind was the most extreme), showed how people increasingly became fine with the notion of forced sex.

By the end I think it was something like 70/30 in favor of the girl being to blame for any rape that takes place.

It wasn't in some 3rd world country etither, the UK if I remember correctly. Makes you wonder how much worse it is in other countries that don't even acknowledge that men and women are equal.

It makes me sick how so many people can believe that it is ever alright to violate another individual's right over their own body. Shows how long the road still is.

I don't always praise the TL community as much as others might, but I'm glad to see that at least the majority here respects a women's personhood.

Indeed. The idea that men are relieved of responsibility if their cocks are teased is disgusting. Yeah let's all go back to the times when 'she was asking for it' was good enough to get you off the hook in court, there'll be no problems there. It's the same mentality that posits that women dressed in revealing clothing want to have sex with you, and it's twisted.

As it relates to the Assange case, whether or not he did it is not really the point any more. Does anyone really think British police are surrounding every inch of the Ecuadorian embassy 24/7 with threats to invade, the media is running this violent screeching smear campaign that assumes guilt despite no charge being leveled, the US is conducting an investigation inton Assange 'unprecedented both in it's scale and nature', all because of a guy who skipped bail on a sexual assault case? Fuck no.

Now that you bring up those statistics, I am not exactly surprised. After my infantile activity on 4chan which was very sexist but something I was able to forgive because it is such an evil place that prides itself on being evil a lot of the time, I moved to reddit like most ex-4chan users.
I stayed there for some time but was disgusted by the quality of posting, religious atheism, and sexism. The irony was is that many religious atheists complain how Islam brutally treats its women but it seems like a lot of the community, if not most was okay with being sexist themselves. And the occasional golden female who sides with the sexists is also not helping the cause that women are treated like shit overall on the internet.
For example, I once saw a thread on marital rape whether it should be legal or not and I initially expected everyone to say no but my god were there so many people who were saying stuff like "It is a love and sexual contract, if she does not want to have sex, then she should not have gotten married," and then a thread on a 14 year old girl who was raped and was shown little sympathy and then a thread which talked about rapists and although their actions were not condoned, the reddit members seemed to sympathize with the rapists overall.
