I got a big feeling this Nexus range is tester before they do a super aggressive campaign for next generation products maybe next year. By looking at the serials, the guys at the XDA forums managed to work out that Google has sold around 250,000 Nexus 4s. and LG are already getting ready to slow down production of the 4s for the Nexus 5 (being the 5" Nexus not the next "4"). If they can keep/get developers excited for these products i can see huge success for Google in coming years. Android are already seeing an increase in apps for the 7" format due to the awesomeness of the Nexus 7.

This is an unsubstantiated rumor. Until you hear either LG or Google say something like this, don't believe what you hear on the interwebs. Right now, LG is saying the exact opposite. I don't know what Google is publicly saying about it.

I'm not sure what this means, what did they do? What did they do with the Nexus 7 production line?

The Nexus 7 was introduced and the 16, and 32GB were popular and of course had production and order delays few months later lo and behold a 32GB was introduced with HSPA+; pissed a lot of people off who were just getting the 16GB & 32GB originals after delays.

Have the Galaxy Nexus phone (predecessor to Nexus 4) and the Nexus 7...

Both awesome devices... Of course you don't carry both around at all times, but they well worth their relatively cheap cost (compared to some trash like the iPad).

If I hadn't purchased the Galaxy Nexus phone in late August I totally would have picked up the Note 2... That thing is beasttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!

Yea but that isn't an entirely new device, which is what the rumors are about.

France gets all the breaks

Google has blamed LG for Nexus 4 shortages, and an LG spokesperson has said that production is proceeding as planned for its hard-to-find Nexus 4 handset, but Cathy Robin of LG France is telling a still slightly different story — at least for the French market. In an interview with Challenges, Robin said that the predictions Google had given LG France — based on previous Nexus sales — turned out to be lower than demand, causing a shortage. Now, she says production will ramp up, and that hopefully "market strain" will be gone by February. She also denies that the Nexus 4 was sold at a loss, though she did say LG and Google had reached an agreement on a "reasonable price."

Though it's tempting to assume the same faulty predictions happened in other countries — the phone sold out within minutes in the UK and is still out of stock in the US Play Store — Robin reports that estimated demand in France was much lower than elsewhere: "Predictions for the UK and Germany were ten times higher than for France," she says, "therefore we shipped a lot more to those markets than to France." Overall, though, she's still (rather politely) pointing the finger at Google, as well as giving potential Nexus 4 buyers a ray of hope.

Here in spain is still out of order, since mid December at least, that is when I started to check.

I hope they don't take too long or my current HTC will finally blow up and I'll have to go back to a Nokia 3210 or something...

Awesome, thanks for the link. Trying to convince my step-dad to buy a nexus instead of a random carrier's phone, but it's proving to be quite difficult while supply blocked.

Well I love my Nexus 7. Got a 32GB for $212 after tax and free shipping... battery life when watching streams is so much better than my laptop and it's much easier to view. And my laptop when plugged in gets my bed ridiculously hot, not to mention the wires are annoying.

Planning on rooting it to overclock it a bit, as the PSX emulator I'm using still slows down a tidbit at times when playing FF9. I'm guessing that should help.

Is that what the naming scheme is going to be? I was hoping for something more random.

1, S, Galaxy, 7, Q, 4, 10, ...

Google to Issue Nexus 7.7 First, Key Lime Pie on Motorola X-Phone before Releasing Nexus 5 – Report

We'll get to see first the second generation Nexus 7 and the Motorola X-Phone, likely the bearer of Google's Key Lime Pie, prior to the anticipated release of the Nexus 5 smartphone, a new report said.

Despite the widespread rumours that Google intends to battle it out with Apple and Samsung in Q3 2013 via the Nexus 5, Stephen Schenck of PocketNow is convinced that the internet search giant will hold its punches and stick to its game plan.

That plan includes a major refresh of the Nexus 7, its screen and CPU set for bump ups that will dwarf the planned spec upgrades of Apple's iPad Mini 2 and Samsung's Galaxy Note 8.0, and the global rollout of Key Lime Pie or Android 5.0.

Mr Schenck believes Google will allow the X-Phone to become the first handset that will flash the new mobile device prowess developed by Google engineers and to be flashed with the KLP.

Experts are in agreement that the new Motorola smartphone will be previewed by Google using its I/O Developers Conference on May and KLP will be part of the whole package.

This is a high possibility, Mr Schenck said, adding that "Google is not a company that needs to rush things."

One step closer to Skynet, but in all fairness I have been looking into a tablet and Google tops my list atm. Seems like it may be worth waiting a longer though.

Yeah I would hold out till the new ones get released if you aren't desperate for one. I just recently got a Nexus 7 in December when the 32GB ones were being sold for $230. Managed to get one for ~$190 since I had ebay bucks on the account. If the new Nexus 7 is a significant upgrade I'll just give the one I currently have to a relative and buy the new one. So far though it's been a great tablet and done pretty much all I've asked of it.

My girlfriend has a first gen Ipad and really the only thing I'm jealous of is all the apps for the iOS but with enough time and enough of an installer base Android will get there eventually. Just takes time for developers.

I picked up a 16gb Nexus 7 for like $160 a few months back. I also have a Nexus 4.

The new devices are going to have to be exceedingly impressive to make me consider switching. Hell, the Nexus 4 is almost too much phone for me.
Might makes right.
