But lately ive been trying some classic cocktails: Old Fashioned, Dry Martini, Tom Collins, Sidecards. All very delicious. I love the taste of beer but it just makes me feel too shitty and dehydrated to have more than 1. Oh and Im a big tequila fan too. Mostly just for sipping but I like a margaritia too (the fake premixed kind. Real margaritas way too sour for me lol). | ||

so a thread was made to discuss it actually i have a very on topic question to ask, im not a heavy drinker at all pretty much only time ive had anything to drink was when my sister took me out on my 19th birthday to do some bar hopping my first beer tasted terrible but my sister and brother assured me that everyone hated it at first and urged me to keep drinking i didnt drink that much had a couple bottles of beer, shot of tequila a couple shots taht i think was called a crispy crunch and a couple glasses of a drink i cant remember exactly what was, sounded like emmeretal sour or something like that but it never seemed to taste any better, since then ive had a couple bottle of beers but it still tasted bad and whatever drink theyve gotten me it always tasted bad even a drink at montanas called the smore that tasted bad but my sister insisted she couldnt even taste the alchohol in it should i attempt to stick in it and hope i get used to it or am i just really sensitive to the taste and not going to get better? | ||

You're going to have to drink for more than one night to really get used to the flavor. I've probably gotten like about 9-10 times in the last year and it still all tastes like ass to me. I mean, for me it took me a while to get used to it, but around... oh... 14 beers in I feel pretty comfortable with the taste. Then again I chugged all of them, I never really just sip or slowly drink (I'm under age so... would be stupid to try and extend the period where I could get caught). And by the way, does anyone here not really mind the taste of vodka? I remember tasting it a looooooong time ago and feeling like I was drinking needles, but recently it was just like... water, almost. Not bad at all, but in my belly it burned like hell, in a good way haha. I don't want to sound like I am bragging, because I don't know if it was watered down or if my Russian genetics are just kicking in  | ||

Ya, a lot of people don't like beer at first (or ever). The drink you mentioned was made using amaretto, but you probably want to stick to simpler stuff at first. Rum+coke, vodka/cranberry, vodka/redbull or a screwdriver (vodka/orange juice) mostly just taste like their mixer (especially if you order them at a bar), so give one of those a try first. One major problem is that 95% of what people drink at parties and what is served at bars is low quality stuff, mass produced to get people trashed. JackDaniels, Jose Cuervo, Smirinoff, and Captian Morgans are CRAP. A good whisky or tequila wont have that big ethanol aroma/flavour that makes people cringe after a shot. Get onto google and read some reviews. Theres far more options out there than most people realize. A bit of research and a couple extra bucks can get you something light years ahead in quality. However! It took me a long time to start enjoying the taste of alcohol. Some people never aquire a taste for it. Dont try to rush it. | ||
